Fostering saves lives—literally. 🐾💛

Every cat or kitten placed in a foster home opens up space in the shelter for another animal in need, while also giving them a calmer, safer environment to decompress, heal, grow, and socialize. For shy cats, medical cases, bottle babies, or kittens too young for adoption, foster homes can completely change their outcome.

You don’t need to be an expert to foster—just someone willing to give a little time, patience, and love. If you’ve been thinking about getting involved, this is your sign to apply to foster with us and help more cats find their forever homes. 🫶

If you’re looking for the sweetest, friendliest cat with the cutest smile, Punch is your guy. 🥹💛

This incredibly sweet FeLV+ boy was found abandoned outside in a carrier, but despite everything, he’s remained calm, affectionate, and full of love. Cats like Punch are often overlooked, but if you give him a chance you’ll be getting a best friend for life. 💞

Two kittens are almost always better than one 🐾💛

Kittens learn important social skills from each other, keep one another entertained, burn off energy together, and are far less likely to develop behavioral issues caused by boredom or loneliness. Plus, having a built-in best friend can make the transition into a new home so much easier.

At Stray Cat Alliance, we love seeing pairs stay together—and trust us, double the kittens really does mean double the fun.

Lucy Loo has been through so much, and she deserves her happy ending. 🥺💛🐾

After being adopted with her sister as a kitten, Lucy was heartbreakingly returned to the shelter two years later. Just days after that, her sister was adopted again—leaving Lucy alone, frightened, and completely heartbroken. Thankfully, she was rescued before it was too late, and little by little she’s learning how to feel safe again.

Now? Lucy is back to being the sweet, affectionate, playful girl she truly is. She loves attention, wants to be close to her people, and would happily spend her days snuggling in bed, chasing toys, and napping in sunny spots around the house. She’s the kind of cat who bonds deeply and just wants to feel loved and secure again.
Lucy would thrive in a patient home that can give her time to fully settle in—and ideally with another friendly cat companion since she’s so used to having feline company. After everything she’s been through, we would love nothing more than to see her finally find the forever home she deserves. 🫶

Meet Sweet Potato Pie! This 2 month old cutie has a budding future as a model. 🫶🏼 Her start to life wasn’t so sweet though. ❤️‍🩹 She found herself as an End of Day kitten at an LA shelter before our team stepped in to pull her. She, along with over 70+ kittens, have been brought in by our team just in the past month. Kitten season has been rough this year.

She just left to her foster to adopt home yesterday and we are so thrilled for her! 💞 But we still have dozens of kittens waiting for the same chance, so if you’ve been thinking of fostering or adopting this is your sign. 🙌 Apply today! Angelenos care deeply about animals—and now local shelters need that support more than ever. 🐾💔 WE’RE DOING A FINAL PUSH TO SIGN SO PLEASE SHARE.

The proposed 2026–27 budget for Los Angeles Animal Services could reduce funding for essentials like pet food, medical supplies, community cat spay/neuter vouchers, and Dogs Playing For Life, a proven enrichment program that helps shelter dogs thrive and increases adoptions. The proposal would also eliminate three positions and underfund the city’s Community Cat Program, which is designed to reduce the number of cats and kittens entering shelters over time.

There’s still time to advocate for stronger funding and support a historic partnership with Best Friends Animal Society and ASPCA that could improve shelter operations, fostering, adoptions, and veterinary care across LA’s six shelters.
