Daisy's slow but wonderful recovery .

So many – far too many – dogs in Southern Italy are still abandoned to their sad fate, left to die of starvation or disease without receiving any treatment…
Daisy is yet another example of this!
This sweet little girl was abandoned by hunters, left on the street like rubbish or something no longer needed.
She was so thin, tired and ill that she could barely stand.
As you will no doubt remember, she too is suffering from leishmaniasis.
She was initially taken in by a dog shelter where she was able to begin her treatment… But the situation at the shelter has become very difficult during the past few weeks because of the huge number of abandoned dogs. I offered my help and yesterday Daisy arrived at my home where she will continue her convalescence on the road to recovery from leishmaniasis.
She spent a peaceful night and immediately became friends with all the other furry friends in the house.
She is a truly loving little dog as well as being adorable.

She eats with a healthy appetite and already loves pottering about in the garden and basking in the sun.
She is so well-behaved.
I’m convinced she’ll grow into a real beauty.
We’ll keep you updated on her.
Now no one will ever be able to hurt her again.

My dog has officially lost all sense of reality… and I’m blaming this donkey. 🫏😂
He refuses to go anywhere without it.
Bedroom? It’s there.
Living room? Dragged along.
Nap time? Cuddled like it’s the love of his life.

At this point… I’m not the favorite anymore.
It’s giving soulmate energy — just slightly more donkey-shaped. 🤎

What shocks me the most? This thing is basically indestructible.
My dog has tried EVERYTHING — chewing, shaking, tug-of-war, launching it across the house…
…and it still looks brand new.

I genuinely don’t know what this donkey is made of, but I need that level of emotional strength in my life.

And the squeaky inside?
Game. Changer.

It keeps him busy for HOURS — which means my furniture finally gets a break.

For the first time ever, I found a toy that actually matches his chaos.

He’s happier, calmer… and my house is finally at peace. 🐾

Did I expect a donkey toy to change my life?
No.
Did it anyway?
Absolutely. 🤍
