Sometimes rescue is more than pulling an animal from the shelter or saving them from the hard streets. Sometimes it's about helping the less fortunate keep the pets they already have. This is Moe. His owner asked for our help when she found out he had a life threatening infection that needed emergency surgery that she could not afford.

There are good people out there that love their pets but when they have to choose between paying the rent or putting food on the table for their kids and their family pet, that is something that should never happen. Unfortunately many people are in this situation right now, and it's only getting worse.🥺

The shelters are overcrowded with unwanted animals right now, but if we can offer assistance by helping someone keep their dog or cat with a little aid, that's one less cage used, and maybe a better chance for another dog to be rescued before their time is up 💔

We're desperately trying to save this boy and get him off the streets before he has to stay out another night and be in danger of coyotes.
Anyone please let us know if you can foster or even temporarily foster for us. All of our fosters are at full capacity so we depend on kind souls who maybe have never done this before but want to do a good deed!🙏💖

Our newest rescue! Mama and liter of babies. We were notified the mama gave birth on someone's porch in their planter box during the heatwave. Mama was severely dehydrated and couldn't make enough milk for babies. Sadly one didn't make it but the other four and Mama are now in our care and in a loving foster home thanks to our dear friend and supporter Jill Nelsom Bartram! 🙏💖

We are so grateful for to come accross this beautiful animal just in time before her owner was about to give up on her and do the unthinkable. We are happy to announce Savinggracela will personally see to that Stevie Nicks will never fall in the wrong hands or be in that kind of danger ever again.

We need to do better as humans. God's creatures rely on us for their safety and protection and not to discard them because they are animals and can't verbally communicate with us their needs. When they act out in agression it is usually out of fear or not feeling heard. Welcome Stevie to the rest of your life! We will be taking applications but first we will be working on finding a trainer to make sure her we hear her needs loud and clear!❤

She just got fixed and all her babies but one have been adopted and now it's her turn!

HOW TO BUILD A WINTER SHELTER FOR OUTDOOR/ FERAL CATS

Winter is coming and it is already cold in some parts of the country. Outdoor & feral cats are searching for warm, safe places out of the cold. Outdoor cats can quickly succumb to hypothermia, particularly in rain & snow when their fur gets wet and doesn’t insulate as well. If you see a cat in need, give them a helping hand. You can make an easy outdoor cat shelter that very well can save their life this winter!

All you need is a plastic tote, styrofoam cooler (or sheets of styrofoam available at Home Depot or Lowes), duct tape, utility knife, and straw!

The shelter should be large enough for turning around, yet small enough to conserve body heat. The opening for the cat to enter should be a 6 inch square or circle. The floor should be raised a few inches off the ground and covered with cedar shavings or straw. The shelter should be turned to face away from the wind.

NEVER use newspaper, towels, or blankets inside a cat's shelter. They will retain the cold and become stiff and hard. Instead, use straw.

Straw—Not Hay—for Feral Cat Shelters. Hay is used for animal feed—it draws and holds moisture, which you don’t want in your cat shelter. Straw, the dry leftover stalks from harvested crops, repels moisture, making it ideal for keeping cats and other animals warm and comfy all winter long. If you’re able to do a side by side comparison, the easiest way to tell whether you’re buying straw or hay is the price difference: while cost varies by region, hay should be two to three times more expensive than straw.

Here is the Mama we just rescued a few days ago, only about 9 months old, just a kitten herself already with babies. 😓

Unfortunately this is the reality and it happens more now with climate change, warm weather into fall and now with Covid, many people losing their homes or not being able to financially care for their pets and dumping them in the streets to fend for themselves.

Luckily for this little family a good Samaritan called us as soon as they saw her babies and Thankfully they are all healthy which many times is not the case. Mama will be up for adoption as soon as she is done nursing and gets spayed and the babies will all find wonderful homes.
