I’d written this back in September.. seems to work at this time as well ...

Mysterious Life, as it is. Flowing with elements of experience that at times, tread deep into ones soul. At times, light and airy like a feather on the wind. Always transversing in intervals of the unknown.
There are times of relegating the harsh aspects of this mortal life, and it can be fu***ng hard. Thither then, there is flow.
Emptying, waiting, holding onto thin air. Sometimes suspended, sometimes suspenseful. One most often, can’t be sure of what life’s mysterious nature has in store. We can only hold to the truth of our nature, of all the natural, and the unseen worlds. The cosmic forces at work with us, not against us.
I feel the shift of this planet’s longing, and yet I know so little in the scheme of life’s mysterious nature.
I do know, in my heart, I am so very blessed, to have walked on this earth at this time of humanity, and of all her inhabitants.

I cherish the lessons that have made home in my life. I cherish the people, the wild and domestic beasts, all of Mother Nature, all my ancestors and the Cosmic Forces at play.
I welcome more of Life’s Mysteriousness to unfold. Hopefully gently, joyfully, until it’s time for me to part. Until then, I’ll hold on, and make the concerted and intentional effort, to enjoy the ride. To ride the wind, the stars and the whispers of my soul.

Happy Father’s Day Dad — I learned so much about you, about me and from you. I Love You. May Your Memory Be Eternal ♥️

Our Dad Ignatios Emmanuel Vouniozos received great joy from music, singing and the short-wave receiver where he’d tune into conversations and world music broadcast from lands far from our shores. He was fluid in several languages through his self-taught abilities, which he also applied to writing music by ear.

He was an immigrant, and proud of his standing as an American Citizen. He loved his homeland of Greece, where he proudly served in the Greek Army Calvary Division (seeds to my love of horses), and was an Interpreter for the U.S. during WWII. During the Greco-Turkish wars (1897 and 1921–22), on the island of Crete, our family suffered the brutal take over of their village by the Turks. Our hero “Papou” led many to safety, though his parents were massacred. He, his new young wife and their children, began a new life on Mytilene the capital of on the island of Le**os. Our father, and his siblings were raised (and apparently he often brought “lost” animals home — I find more and more of myself in him), they remade their life and the family flourished.

He loved the ocean, and was an avid cliff diver. He had a beautiful voice (think Mario Lanza, Pavarotti), and performed in a choral group that toured their country. His dream was to sing professionally, and though he performed at many events in the States, he dedicated his time to providing for his family.

It was tough growing up with a European father, but after our mom passed away and as he entered his later years, I am honoured we became close. We bonded and our relationship bloomed — I suppose similar to the flowering of the Queen of the Night plant, for one night in the middle of summer it opens with trumpet-shaped, creamy-white flowers (a metaphor for the latter years of life, and also after living through our own darkest hours) ♥️

“I know that, no matter what has passed and gone before, peace will one day come. It will happen as soon as the world learns about love, and I have faith that one day it will.” ♥️
