Here are 5 common mistakes that can contribute to leash reactivity: 👇

1️⃣ Lack of Proper Socialization & Exposure

Socialization isn't just about meeting dogs and people. It's about teaching puppies how to confidently navigate new environments, distractions, and experiences with proper guidance.

2️⃣ Neglecting Emotional Regulation & Impulse Control

Puppies need to learn how to manage excitement, frustration, and competing desires. Without these skills, everyday experiences can become overwhelming.

3️⃣ Failing to Establish Guidance & Cooperation

** #5: Not Knowing What You Want From Your Dog**
It’s easy to react to unwanted behavior without knowing what you actually want your dog to do instead. Take a breath, decide on the desired behavior, and give your dog a clear direction.

Remember, dogs don’t speak English! We have to teach them what our words mean and practice consistently so they can learn. Getting frustrated won’t help them understand what we’re asking.
