2025 was wild, stressful, and unforgettable — and we couldn’t have survived it without you all. To every foster, volunteer, and donor, thank you for supporting Boomer’s Buddies Rescue in one of the most unfortunate years in our history.

As we say, it takes a village and community to save animals.

Here’s to continuing the lifesaving work together in 2026. 🤍

Before coffee < After Coffee 🤪

Just a reminder this little ball of energy, your next adventure buddy, runner/hiker/adventure partner in crime is still available for adoption, a foster, or a foster to adopt! True to her breed, she is high-energy, intelligent, and thrives when she has structure, exercise, and a job to do. She’ll be happiest in a home that understands what it means to keep a German Shepherd’s body and mind engaged—whether that’s through training, hiking, playtime, or other fun adventures.

Monty update!!

Monty hit the foster jackpot and is now living his best life with a home and family all to himself! 🥹

Poor Monty was rescued with his girlfriend Halloween last week but sadly they were both diagnosed with Felv and Halloween was far too critical. He lost his best friend and with him being Felv+, we were worried about finding a long term foster for him.

That’s when reached out and said her mom was free to foster! In a calm home, being the only pet, and two humans who were home all the time, Monty hit the jackpot! He now sleeps on the bed next to sweet humans at night, and gets all the TLC he so badly deserves.

Monty will remain there for as long as he needs, unless there is a home with other Felv + kitties that would want to take him in as he seems to love other cats.

We will continue to post updates on Monty!

Good morning from Elli!!

Elli’s foster has reported that Elli is doing great, eating up a storm, acting playful and like no tumor was ever removed from her mouth! 😆

She had done a slow intro with Elli and her current cats and it’s been determined that Elli will do fine with other cats as long as there is a slow intro and no huge expectations of her becoming BFF’s with other kitties. She LOVES human attention and would do great in a home with other kitty friends or someone who lives alone but has a lot of love to give Ms Elli and home a lot!

If interested in adopting Elli, please fill out a link in our bio!

Stats:
Approx 1-2 year old female
Spayed
FIV/Felv-
Petite gal at just 6 1/2 lbs
*Tumor in her mouth was non-cancerous and has been removed*

Meet our newest rescues, Brewser, Dash, Whitney, Ethel, and Mamma!

Taken in from a colony where Mamma and her babies were friendly and in need of some TLC!

Mamma is skin and bones and having a hard time keeping weight on while still nursing her babies. She is being treated for diarrhea and an URI.

Kittens are about 6-7 weeks old and doing great with the exception of the runt who is having a hard time kicking her URI and slower to grow. They are all eating wet food also, while still nursing.

We would love to get the kittens into a separate foster home, even a foster-to-adopt home, to give Mamma a break so she can recover without her babies still trying to nurse. We are allowing the kittens to be split up into two groups to ease the burden on just 1 foster. If you are interested in adopting or just temporarily fostering, we would greatly appreciate any help!!

Our foster application is in the link in our bio. All supplies and medical care are provided to fosters.

Please spread the word by sharing this post.

We were made aware of an injured feral kitty who was either attacked by a coyote or another cat and needing medical care. While under anesthesia to clean his wounds we neutered him so he’s ball-less and flaw-less and no longer able to contribute to making babies. He’s recovering now and will go back to his colony in a few days.

Thank you for assisting these feral kitties too! 😺

And thank you to Claire, Frances and Melanie for making this all possible!

It is an honor to be interviewed by People for our work we have done since the Palisades fire ravaged our beloved Malibu community and nearby Palisades community.

We are devastated at the loss of so much and we mourn with the owners who lost their pets, and the people who lost their homes.

We found deep comfort in reuniting animals with their owners for the lucky ones that made it.

Thank you all for your support the last few weeks and always. We couldn’t have done it without you all!

We still have a few of the animals in foster homes and some being boarded at our veterinarians office until their owners can get back on their feet.

Sending some prayers to everyone who was affected by this tragedy. 🙏

Davis, 41, has managed to retrieve nearly two dozen animals that would have probably not survived much longer without her intervention.
