Navigating West

Navigating West I'm a "career changed" pup from Guide Dogs of America and this page documents all my adventures with my adopted family near Seattle, Washington.

I am a male black Labrador born on April 9, 2015. I along with my 5 brothers and sisters are from the “W” litter. We are all puppies in training for Guide Dogs of America. We will be learning basic obedience, house manners, leash walking and socialization. Our puppy raisers will expose us to as many different situations as possible over the next 18 months. So we have fewer adjustments to make when

we return to Guide Dogs of America for the 6 month formal guide dog training. Our ultimate goal is to become working guide dogs for the blind and visually impaired so that we can offer independence, mobility and companionship. The lasting reward for our puppy raisers will be to meet the blind recipient of the dog they have raised.
