💔🐰 BUNNY FUFU & KIWI: A LOVE STORY THAT DESERVES A HAPPY ENDING 🐰💔
We are heartbroken.
Back in October 2025, a family reached out to us after purchasing a tiny baby bunny from a breeder. Bunny FuFu was only 5 weeks old when they brought her home. Just three weeks later, they contacted Bunny World Foundation for grooming and bunny care advice.
The following month, they attended one of our bunny care workshops and adopted our sweet boy Kiwi.
Kiwi's story had already begun with hardship. He was rescued by Bunny World Foundation from North Central Animal Shelter in Los Angeles, where he was waiting for someone to give him a second chance at life. ❤️
Little did we know that his greatest adventure was about to begin.
FuFu and Kiwi went on a "bunnymoon" and instantly fell in love. 💕
They became inseparable.
They groomed one another, cuddled together, flopped side-by-side, and found comfort and happiness in each other's company. Watching them together was everything we hope for when we place rabbits into loving homes.
Then, in February, we received a heartbreaking message from the family:
"My daughter has been breaking out in hives for the past six weeks and last night was the most severe. She has been keeping this from me through late December and early January because she desperately wanted to keep her bunnies. However, after seeing her last night, we have no option but to rehome them. She is missing school due to the severity of her allergic reaction."
Of course, we understood. Health comes first.
But then came the part that left us speechless.
"I wanted to arrange a time with you to bring you Kiwi. The breeder has rights to Bunny FuFu. She will be going back this Friday."
💔💔💔
Not only had the commitment to spay Bunny FuFu never been honored, but they were prepared to separate a deeply bonded pair and send FuFu back to the breeder.
Back to a life where she would likely be bred over and over again.
Back to losing the bunny she loved.
Back to losing the life she knew.
We couldn't let that happen.
So we took them both.
And of course, Bunny FuFu is now safely spayed. ❤️
Today, they are still together.
Kiwi survived the shelter system.
FuFu escaped a future as a breeding rabbit.
Together, they found love.
They are affectionate, playful, curious, and completely devoted to one another. Through all the uncertainty and change, they never stopped loving each other.
Now they need the one thing we cannot give them:
🏡 A forever home.
A family that will cherish them.
A family that understands that bonded bunnies belong together.
A family that will never separate them.
