Unfortunately over the past few days 2 female pups have passed away. One of which we know we could not do anything for except to make her comfortable. The other was healthy and all of a sudden went downhill. We believe that the first one aspirated at birth and even with medical intervention was unable to recover. The second one was healthy and growing and suddenly went downhill very fast. My theory on the second one was that she was growing fast (due to their mothers willingness to constantly nurse them) and spending too much time laying on its chest and on the flat surface of the heating pad making her chest flatter than normal. Even though English Bulldogs are notoriously difficult to breed we have never experienced these issues before and are truly heart broken. The 3 remaining pups are doing very well so far, and we are hopeful this will continue.
