UPDATE: $300 LEFT TO GOAL! PLEASE KEEP SHARING SO WE CAN GET DOBIES DIESEL AND LOLA SAFELY TO MICHIGAN! THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HAS DONATED!

Please help our Dobie-loving friends get two West Valley dogs, DIESEL and LOLA to new lives in Michigan! All donations are so appreciated!

My name is Michelle Reichmann, and l am a Doberman rescuer based in Michigan. I am working with Michelle Loren and Macaria Beaton. We have been helping save California dobermans for well over a year now. We are raising funds for Michigan Doberman Rescue to bring two senior Dobermans from California to Michigan. The male Doberman, Diesel, is 7 years old. The female Doberman, Lola, is 6 years old. Both were being held at the West Valley Shelter in California. Diesel was pulled out of the shelter yesterday, September 2, 2026, and placed into boarding, where he will be held until the transport leaves in approximately 2 weeks. We also need to pull Lola out of the shelter and get her into boarding.

This Handsome Tuxedo Kitty Boy is BENJI (1 yr old, neutered & weighs 11 lbs). BENJI is Very Loving and Gives Kisses - he is Super Friendly and Uses his litter box! BENJI was surrendered by his owner due to aggression, but I've only seen really good behavior from Benji! He is at the front of the cage with relaxed body language ready to say hi to everyone who walks by and Gives me endless kisses when I pet him! BENJI loves wet food and gobbles it up. He is being treated for a bit of a cold right now (upper respiratory infection) but he has a great energy level and is happy and loving. Will attach owner notes if there are any in the comments in the next few days. The shelter is open Tues-Fri 8am-5pm. Sat/Sun 11am-5pm. Main shelter line 818-756-9325/6.

Help Needed for 2 Shut Down Kitty Brothers Surrendered by their owner 3 months ago!! Over 3 months in a cage - please help!
BLAZE (Ginger Kitty, 3 yrs old, neutered & weighs 7 lbs) and his Brother ROLO (Tuxedo boy, 1 yr old, neutered & weighs 6 lbs) are Very Shy & Shut Down! They hide most of the time but are sweet. They will run to the other side of the cage when we try to pet them but they are not aggressive - just Terrified. They Need out Together and are in the cages next to each other so at least they can smell each other. They love wet food and let me put it right in front of them and they will eat it and seem relaxed. If you try to remove them from the cage they hide and shut down so adopters have passed on them. Please Network so the Right person/rescue sees them and Rescues/Adopts them both! The shelter is open Tues-Fri 8am-5pm. Sat/Sun 11am-5pm. Main shelter line 818-756-9325/6.

Sharing this post by Outta the Cage about 4yo West Valley superstar, MIMI who so deserves to find a happy home!

“I really don’t know why Mimi hasn’t found her forever home.

She’s four years old, playful, affectionate, and has that wonderful enthusiasm social dogs have for pretty much everything: People! Dogs! Playtime! Let’s GO!

She’s even a greeter dog in the shelter’s playgroups—the dog trusted to welcome other dogs and help them feel comfortable. And yet somehow, Mimi is always the bridesmaid, never the bride.

She stopped by our adoption event recently and happily accepted pets, hugs, and attention from everyone who came her way. She’s fun. She’s affectionate. She’s game for just about anything.

And maybe the sweetest thing is watching the moment she realizes she’s getting out of her kennel for playtime. Wait. ME? I get to go?!
But those moments don’t happen nearly often enough for a shelter dog—even one as happy and social as Mimi.

So she goes back to her kennel. And waits.

Mimi is spayed, chipped, vaccinated, and ready to leave. All she needs now is someone on the outside to say, "Come on, Mimi. You’re coming home with me."

Why hasn’t that happened yet? Maybe because she’s a gray pittie in a shelter full of pitties. Maybe people walk past her thinking they’ll find another dog just like her.

They won’t. There’s only one Mimi.

And really, wouldn’t she look a whole lot better on your couch than in a shelter kennel?

Come meet Mimi at West Valley Shelter.

Go get your Mimi.”

XENA is a former West Valley resident who was rescued but recently lost her foster home. She has been through training and desperately needs a new place to land. She’s located in Southern California. If you can foster or adopt Xena please contact her rescue by sending a message to Death Row Dogs Rescue, Los Angeles or email them at [email protected]

Please share Xena!

From Her Rescue: This sweet girl was once sitting in a shelter with her time running out, facing euthanasia simply because she hadn't found the right person to give her a chance. She was rescued and placed into a foster home, but unfortunately, the situation wasn't the right fit. Through no fault of her own, she ended up back at the shelter - confused, disappointed, and once again waiting for someone to believe in her.

But then everything changed. She went to a trainer who took the time to understand her, work with her, and show her what life could look like with patience, consistency, and love. And guess what?

She is absolutely amazing.

This girl has blossomed into the best dog. She's learned, grown, and shown everyone just how special she really is. Her past does not define her, and she is more than ready to leave it behind.
Now all she needs is her forever home.

She deserves a family who will make sure it's her last move. Please share her story. Maybe her person is just one share away. She waited. She learned. She never gave up. Now it's her turn to be loved forever.

-Xena is a young mix shepherd girl. She is about 59lbs
-Friendly with people and dogs that don't try to dominate her.
-She might not be the perfect roommate for a cat.

She has been working on food guarding and doing great! She would be a great companion and she has so much unconditional love to give if you give her a chance! Please open your home and heart to this beauty. She deserves a good home!
