Thomas & Sandra adopted Buddy in 2016 and spent some wonderful years together. We received a very generous donation from Thomas & Sandra in memory of Buddy for their many thanks for all the work we do. Thank you so much for still thinking of us 10 years after adopting Buddy! 💙🐾🐶 (Pictured here are Sienna and Kitty - both available for adoption)

In case anyone is wondering what our biggest need at the shelter is right now, I’ll give you a hint. . . cats like it when it’s super fresh and they also seem to like to throw it around everywhere. You got it! It’s litter, litter and more litter! Clumping litter is what we prefer if anyone is out and about and wants to drop some off at the shelter or you can also have it delivered to 507 N. Oak Street, Loogootee, IN 47553. 😽🏖️💖

This young dog was found on Rutherford Road in Loogootee. Does anyone recognize him?

Check this out! 🐾 Since our shelter is full and dogs aren’t getting adopted we want to try to at least give them a day out of the shelter by doing a Doggy Day Out on Saturday, October 10th. Would you like to schedule an appointment to take one of our dogs out for the day or even for a few hours? Contact the shelter by leaving a voicemail at 812-295-5900 and someone will get back to you to set up the details! 😍🐶🎉

Our shelter is overcrowded with dogs and there is a waitlist for both dogs and cats to come in to the shelter. It’s been a rough year on dog adoptions too. We have a low cost spay/neuter clinic right here in Martin County with Doctor Alexandra Loughmiller and vet technician Caitlin Carrico who have been working so hard to do their part in controlling the pet population in and around Martin County. We are so lucky to have Dr Loughmiller and Caitlin! But you have to do your part too. Please spay and neuter your pets to not only control the pet population but also for the health and well being of the animal. And please try to find some compassion in your heart for strays. We are doing our very best but when you have no where to house an animal it’s extremely difficult to take it in the shelter. Please be kind. Thank you! 🥰🐾
