At 24 hours old, the Making Pegasus Class of 2026 welcomes its 35th foal to the herd. A c**t we have name "Maestro" (1/4 Thoroughbred 1/4 Arabian 1/4 Percheron 1/4 Friesian) out of "Chai Latte Grande is Better" aka "Speedy" (1/2 Arabian 1/2 Thoroughbred) by the Making Pegasus Stallion "Revolution" (1/2 Percheron 1/2 Friesian).

He is still unpacking his huge body and is a little rubbery but he is spectacular. Welcome to the herd "Maestro"! Can't wait to see what you conduct!

‘Petrichor’ (1/2 Warmblood, 1/4 Friesian, 1/4 Gypsy) loves his pal ‘Percival’ (1/4 Warmblood, 1/4 Thoroughbred, 1/2 Gypsy) and it would seem he wanted a little kiss 😘

These two handsome c**ts were born a year apart and have developed a very sweet friendship.

The Making Pegasus class of 2026 welcomes its 33rd foal. A filly out of “Artemis” (1/2 Gypsy 1/2 Friesian) and by “Caesar” (1/2 Friesian 1/2 Shire).

We have named her “Bliss” (1/2 Friesian 1/4 Gypsy 1/4 Shire) as she is the happiest little girl always dancing and jumping.

After a decade of breeding and collecting the best genetics we could over 15 breeds we have now begun to make some of our unique horses available to the public.

Why is he smiling?

The Flehmen response (often referred to as "fleming") is a distinct behavior where a horse extends its neck, raises its head, and curls its upper lip back to bare its teeth.

This posture allows the horse to draw scent molecules (like pheromones) into the vomeronasal organ (VNO), a specialized sensory structure located above the roof of the mouth. By doing this, the horse is essentially "analyzing" a scent to determine if it is a threat, a familiar odor, or to detect if a mare is in heat.

Why they do it: While stallions are most famous for using this to check the reproductive status of mares, both mares and geldings of all ages will do it when they encounter unusual, pungent, or particularly interesting scents.

In this case, I’d been playing a game with these gorgeous 2 year old c**ts and introduced a ball, something they’d not experienced before and it had a curious new scent.

I captured a beautiful moment between “Secret” (purebred Percheron) and her 5 year old daughter “Santa Lucia” (1/2 Percheron, 1/2 Andalusian) with their foals by their side. The mares don’t often allow the others to come so close to their foals when they are very young but “Secret”was very happy to have her grandson “Monterey” (1/2 Arabian, 1/4 Percheron, 1/4 Andalusian) and new daughter “Xanadu” (1/2 Percheron, 1/4 Shire, 1/4 Andalusian) close by while she took some time to connect with “Santa Lucia”.
