Four years ago today, I said goodbye to Lexi—my precious little girl, my constant companion, and the dog who felt like my whole world.

Losing her changed me. Before she became ill, I had switched her from raw food to kibble on my veterinarian’s recommendation. After her cancer diagnosis, I couldn’t stop wondering whether that change had played a part. I’ll never know what caused her cancer, and I don’t want to present my feelings as proof. But the experience changed the way I thought about feeding the dogs I love.

I began making their food myself, with simple ingredients and a lot of care. That choice grew out of my love for them—and out of the heartbreak of losing Lexi. In time, it became part of the beginning of Thanks, Ma!

This little business carries her with it. It’s my way of turning love into something caring and purposeful, and of sharing food made with intention with the dogs who mean so much to their families.

I still miss Lexi. I also know that love can keep moving forward—in the care we give, the lives we touch, and the hearts we open again.

If you’re missing a beloved pet today, I hope you know you don’t have to carry that grief alone. 🤍

🐾 SHELTER SPOTLIGHT: BREEZY 🐾

At 8 years old, Breezy is just beginning to discover the little joys of being a dog. When she first arrived at the shelter, she wasn’t sure what to make of the world around her and would retreat to her kennel. With time and patience, her sweet personality began to shine.

Now she comes forward for treats, gets excited when it’s her turn to come out, and loves attention, hugs, and pets. One of her favorite things? Reaching out to offer you her paw. ❤️

Breezy deserves a soft place to land, a favorite spot on the couch, and someone whose footsteps she’ll recognize coming through the door.
