Due to support for an out of town event, Suwannee Mobile Veterinary Services will not be providing emergency services Saturday 13 June through noon Sunday 14 June. Phone consults will be available (but may be delayed) and emergency services are available through University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine at 352.392.2229

Always promptly treat scrapes, cuts and open wounds on your livestock!

As some may have heard, New World Screwworm has been identified in southern Texas, making this the first case in decades in the continental US. This case is part of an ongoing incremental northward spread of the insect, and is not a surprise to anyone tracking the issue over the last several years.

At this time, there are no reports of the pest in the state of Florida. For more information see:

Due to out of town commitments, Suwannee Mobile Veterinary Services will be CLOSED next week, Thursday 16 April through Sunday 19 April. Over-the-phone consultation will be available at 386.361.1554, but response may be delayed. On farm emergency response will be available through a third party for equines for established clients only. As always, backup emergency response is available at University of Florida in Gainesville. Normal services will resume Monday 20 April.
