Today we introduced the scent "leather" to the puppies during their ENS (Early Neurological Stimulation) and ESI (Early Scent Introduction) . We log how each puppy reacts to each movement during ENS and the reaction to the ESI scent. We tickle between the toes with a q tip, we place the puppy on a cool cloth, hold puppy upright, hold puppy upside down. Each for around 3 seconds. 5 different ESI in total. In addition we run a comb through the hair and rub the puppy . Each day a new scent is introduced for about 3 seconds. Yesterday was grass. Follow us for tomorrows scent and puppy reaction. We will try to record tomorrow's testing. Here are today's results.

Male Puppy Green collar had no reaction with a little grunting and recovered well from each position. He leaned into the leather smell.

Female Puppy Pink Collar had no reaction no sound during each position change. She leaned into the leather scent and tried to move toward it.

Nova and puppies are doing great . Puppies are eating well and gaining weight daily.

Today's weight:
Male 21.5oz
Female 24.5oz.

Our Standard Poodle Nova in the whelping box, just relaxing. Puppies due any day. We let out dams get familiar with the whelping box prior to whelping. This helps them relax and know the box is a safe and comfortable place for her and her puppies. We play soothing sounds on the puppy nursery speaker but unfortunately the rain has brought many frogs that drown out the relaxing sounds. Nova does not seem to mind. We mostly play classical music at low volume for our expecting mothers.

Thank you to everyone that leaves us an honest review. We take the good , the bad and the ugly. We take each review to heart and listen to our new homes and improve with each litter if needed. ❤️
