We use quite a bit of the cardboard flats that have canned food on them. They do need to have the edge on them. We use them for litterboxes for the kittens and throw them away daily.

We also use a lot of paper cat litter (NOT newspaper) with it.

We are low on both, if you all could help out, we would greatly appreciate it.

The paper litter can be ordered off Chewy and Walmart and pet stores carry it as well.

It can be dropped off at 3377 Emanuel Church Rd. Lexington, Sc 29073 Monday-Saturday from 10-3

We are planning a yardsale in July! This would be the perfect time to go through things to see if you have gently used items.

All proceeds go to Animal Protection League. Our hours are Mon-Fri. from 10-3.

We have kittens!

Yoda is ready now, he will have booster vaccines scheduled and his neuter when he is 6 months old.

Sprout, Twig, and Fig have about 3 weeks until their first shot.

Update: Thank you for all your sincere comments for his loss, I sure wish we would get that many when we are trying to find fosters or adopters.

After multiple pleas to help this old man find a foster, we were unsuccessful. He was 10 yrs old and his back legs gave out, he couldnt walk anymore. We do as much as we can before we make that decision. We DO NOT kill for space! And we will not let any of our pets here suffer. He was surrounded by APL staff while he passed and was shown all the love during his time here. He made a mark on everyone who met him and he will be missed so much!

Any German Shepherd lovers out there? Aries needs you. ❤️

Aries is a handsome 9–10-year-old German Shepherd who has been waiting at Animal Protection League of SC since 2021. Sadly, his severe hip issues are worsening, and shelter life is becoming increasingly difficult for him. It might give him more time in a calm home.

We’re searching for a forever foster with German Shepherd experience who can give Aries the comfort he deserves. He needs a home without stairs and would do best in a quieter home with no children. He may be able to live with a calm, respectful dog after proper introductions.

Despite his mobility challenges, Aries still loves toys, enjoys leisurely walks, and never turns down a sunny spot to relax. What he wants most is a soft bed, a peaceful home, and someone to love him through his golden years.

Aries’s comfort is more important to us than an adoption fee. All supplies (food, toys, etc) and medical care will be provided by APL.

Ginger was a star on the news!

She is a really sweet girl looking for a home.

She got left at the vet with pyometra which is an infection of the uterus. If she would have been spayed, she wouldn't have almost died. Through generous donations, she got her surgery and she is all healed.

She loves, loves, people. She does well with dogs and gets a little too happy with cats. All she wants is a family!

Tomorrow May 20th is National Rescue Dog Day!

Come on out and visit our dogs to see which ones you fall in love with. There is an application process once you are interested.

We have so many that need loving homes. Who will you want to take home?

Update: Amara is adopted!

I hope all the moms enjoyed their day. We have a few pets here that were moms

Zora- got abandoned here at our place with her 7 puppies in a crate! She was a great mom. (We still have 4 of them that need adopted, now almost 6 months old)
She is really sweet, wants to be around people, and is very stressed here in the kennels.

Amara- was abandoned with her 6 kittens on the side of the road in a box. She was a great mom and all her kittens got adopted.
She is very sweet, loves giving hugs and cuddling!

They are ready for a permanent home!
