The last two weekends I have had the honor of supporting amazing colleagues and very close friends at the ABVP Diplomate and Purdue College of Veterinary Medicine Distinguished Alumni ceremonies. They say to surround yourself with excellence….I can definitely say I have done that. These two amazing, disciplined, dedicated, and empathetic women define the future of our veterinary profession. Congratulations to both of you. Dr Amanda Hilliard and Allison Kowlowitz-Taylor, you will both continue to do great things!!!!! So thankful to be part of your lives, both personally and professionally.

🐱 Exciting News for Fort Wayne Felines! 🐱

We’re thrilled to welcome back Dr. Jill Kitson-Stewart, DVM, CCRT, DABVP (Feline), who will be seeing feline patients at our Urgent Care building two days a month starting this July!

With 21+ years of experience in emergency, referral, and general practice, Dr. Kitson-Stewart brings a unique, integrative approach to feline medicine—combining advanced training in pain management, behavior, rehab, and acupuncture. She’s also a Founding Fellow in ABVP’s Companion Animal Pain Management Practice and a strong advocate for Fear Free and Feline Friendly handling. 🧡

Now based in Kentucky, she’s excited to reconnect with the Fort Wayne veterinary community and support local teams with complex feline cases, behavior challenges, pain, and geriatric care.

I have been using this product for my cats for almost a year, it has helped me to weigh my cats daily, see how their weight fluctuates throughout the day and monitor the time they spend in the litterbox. I still use the rule "1 litterbox per cat/social group+ 1." It is low to the ground, and easy to clean. The customer service has been responsive, and the warranty is easy to use as long as you buy through their site and not a third-party sponsor. Whether you are using an automatic litterbox or not, I highly recommend ensuring you clean your box multiple times per day and follow the litterbox rule/suggestion to help prevent unwanted elimination in your home.

Does your cat have random twitching down the spine followed by sprinting through the house and rapid grooming of the tail? If so, your cat could be experiencing a chronic pain syndrome called Feline Hyperesthesia Syndrome (FHS). Feline Hyperesthesia syndrome can start to cause behavioral changes resulting in aggression or hiding and even overgrooming and hair loss. There are a number of underlying causes of FHS and identifying a cause and providing pain management can improve your cat's overall discomfort.
