Euroscair Farm

Euroscair Farm Euroscair Farms is a thoroughbred racehorse breeding, training, and rehoming facility based in the beautiful rolling country side of Lexington, KY.

Our puropse at Euroscair Farms is to develope thoroughbred racehorses through the use of bringing out their own raw talent. As owner and trainer I use all natural care and handling where and whenever possible. I never use any raceday drugs, or use of medication to cover up pain or illness. I use all natural supplements for all our horses whether to support horses in training, support a horse thro

ugh a lay-up, or to support a breeding stallion or a pregnant mare. All our horses are handled and trained with a strong foundation in natural horsemanship. Horses are given time at the farm, turned out with other horses and to come down from the normal stress of the track and once they are ready their training begins.

This is our brand new filly by Denman out of Here Comes Frock. She was born around 7am on may 6, at Parish Hill farm where I am night watching. I am so greatful to them for letting me foal her out over there. Frock had a fairly easy foaling other than the fact that she decided to have it standing up (this is her first foal) So I got to "catch". I couldn't be more thrilled with this girl. I promise to plaster the page with updated photos once my laptop is back up and running.

So I am redoing my jockey silks and I would love everyone's input. My current colors are blue and white however I am thinking of adding some burgundy to the mix. I also currently have a star on my silks. It was supposed to be a star along the lines of a navigational star, however it ended up being more like the Christmas star. I am at a cross roads here, because the navigational star has a lot of symbolic meaning to me. However, I also really like of adding or completely changing it to a Celtic dragon, which also has a deep meaning for me. If I could incorporate everything I would be very happy, but I don't have a wonderfully artistic mind. So any and all help that you guys could give would be appreciated.

Hey everyone, sorry I forget to post the farm page and keep everyone updated on what's going on with the farm! Sooo here's the updates! Red Hot Heroine is training at the Thoroughbred Center and we are planning for a race by the end of December! Highly Justin is moving into his new stall on Sunday and we are planning for a race mid to late February. We have a new horse to add to our roster as well a two year old borrego filly named We Got This. She is an absolute pleasure to work with and we are thinking of a race around march. Miracle Million will be moving to the track the beginning of January!
Then as far as the farm goes we have four babies we are breaking this month! Two colts and two fillies. Very excited to get these guys going and see how they handle their transition from baby life to racehorse life.
Then we have two mares in foal that will be expecting in march and April. One of which is Hot Sauces dam, Red Hot Missile, she is in foal to Stately Victor. Our other prego is our maiden Afleet Alex mare Savona. She is carrying Awesome Hero's second foal. I am very curious to see what this big mare throws.
We have also moved to a permanent farm 5 minutes from Hayguard, Rood and Riddle, and the horse park!
Well I think that's the updates for now. You guys feel free to bug me and demand updates! Things are getting exciting.

Highly justin is at the farm now. We got back about 1:30 this morning. He is settling in nicely and is an absolutely lovely boy. He is a bit coltish so the snip snip doctor is going to be out this week :-)
He also has a new farm name, Aspen. I will keep you all updated on his progress.

I am picking up a new addition to the Euroscair Farms family tomorrow. His name is Highly Justin. He is a 16.1 h grey son of Awesome Again. We are very hopeful that he will make an exciting new addition to the racing family here.

Well as always foaling season is exciting. This year is proving to not disappoint. We have one mare ready to foal any day now. It turns out that she has tainted milk. Which means that her colostrum, or the first milk that she produces will kill a foal! This means that we have to be even more on our toes than usual.
Basically we must nurse as much of this milk out of the mare as possible once she starts producing colostrum. Then when the foal gets here he will have to be bottle fed and where a foal mussel so that he won't nurse from his mom. This will only go on until she stops producing colostrum and starts producing regular milk. So in summary, always be prepared for the worst, know what to do if s**t goes south, and hope for the best.

We have the vet coming out today to open some mares and check to see if they are ready for a very early breeding. Looks like next year Hero will be having January babies.
