With over 25 years of experience living with Weimaraner's, I've learned that these "Gray Ghosts" are far more than just pets—they are highly intelligent, "human-like" companions with the mental energy and sass of a perpetual toddler.

Welp, love learning new "Techniques" in managing dogs.. espeicallly mine..

Ok maybe this is not ideal or planned by any means, but I have found the "fool proof" way to "Manage" their "Drive", "All the Time"..lol like that is possible.. just have your main AC unit go out on you and live in the south in August, keep the house around 80 degrees..and instant chill.. Lol

Yeah, they are "Suffering" you would never have known now that Paige was an outdoor dog for the first 3 years of her life, living outside in this SC weather every day.. Now, help me daddy, it's hot in the house..

Loki is just soaking up the fan at the moment relaxing and enjoying himslef..

Crazy this is what it takes for them to be less "Drivey" without all the training, or work, but hey I will take it. They spoiled babies will have AC again here soon and they will be back to the antics, although, won't lie a little break has been nice..

Paige continues to impress me with her learnings. This may seem like just more fetch and blind retrieve work…

Paige however is now tracking the object in the air and as it falls. She is finding what she is after faster and with more confidence!

This is going to transition to the field so well later this year for downed game! Great progress Paige!

While “Dad’s” away the dogs well…. They do stuff…lol.

My daughter was managing the reigns while I was out of town on a work trip last week. As both Loki and Paige still need their energies burned off in productive ways…

Here she is working Paige one evening. Proud of you girl, look at how much trust you have built with Paige over the years!

Taking these two out for some concrete jungle work this morning.

The temps were amazing this morning, low 70 this morning with low humidity.

It has been a while for them getting out in the “City” areas to work on their non hunting skills, and more in their social behaviors.

Paige got to say hi to a couple of people, and Loki was neutral with it all which is a huge win!!

Paige having some fun this morning! Nothing like some play that translates to training.

Paige building her CHOMP, eye coordination doing this which helps in the field.

Paige is learning to cut off the ball, she is handling quick direction changes with ease now.

Between this and the wobble board work, her body is more well balanced now is these active simulated “Chase” trainings.

She is more confident and is really starting to nail it!

Here is one I captured today with a mid air catch, nice Paige!

🥓 ATTENTION WEIMARANERS: We have important news.

Today is National Bacon Lovers Day.

We'll give everyone a moment to recover.

Because somewhere right now, a Weimaraner just heard the refrigerator open from three rooms away and is reporting for duty. 😂

Weims may occasionally suffer from a very rare condition known as:

Selective Hearing.

Examples include:

“Come.”

“Drop it.”

“Get off the couch.”

“What is in your mouth?!”

But somehow the following sounds are detected with military-grade precision:

🥓 Bacon hitting a frying pan
🧀 A cheese wrapper opening
🥜 The peanut butter jar
🍗 Any container that might contain leftovers

And let's be clear…

Your Weim does not necessarily want your bacon.

Your Weim believes there has been a terrible administrative error and that the bacon was actually theirs all along.

😂🐾

So in honor of National Bacon Lovers Day, tell us:

How quickly can YOUR Weim appear when food is involved?

A. Immediately
B. Before you even opened it
C. They were already standing there
D. Weimaraners can apparently teleport

⚠️ And while we're having fun: rich, fatty foods like bacon should only ever be a tiny occasional treat, if at all. Your dog's regular diet is always the better choice.

Been a bit since we had a Worming Weimy Wednesday!!

After the other day I am happy to see Loki acting, well normal for him anyway!
Loki has not had another episode which is good since Monday evening.

We still don’t know what happened the other day, maybe a seizure, maybe something else..We have an appointment with our vet tomorrow for some blood work.

Hopefully we can get some answers and figure out a plan for this boy!

Just another personality trait of his I guess to deal with, love you buddy…

While all things are pointing to a seizure after talking to our vet immediately after the incident. This boy gave us a scare this afternoon and well we are not out of the woods of course.

Loki has never had any history of seizures, but this afternoon he went to get up out of his chair and proceeded to fall 3 times before I could get him on the floor. Then his eyes started to rapidly move back and forth like crazy.

I have no experience in dogs with seizures so this was new.

As stated I was on the phone with our vet immediately after Loki was safe. We have a go forward and a plan if he has another between tonight and getting into the vet tomorrow.

He is back to himself now and we are keeping him down this evening and watching him closely.

Welp that is not somthing that happens everyday in this house with these two.. both laying down on the floor next to each other sleeping and touching.. what is the world coming too..

I have been sitting in my office working on course work that I am taking, I turned around due to the snoring coming from behind me.

I did not realize both were there and being civil to each other.. Love it, thank you Paige and Loki!!!
