Nichole and Donnie lost their girl Luna last year. Their hearts were completely broken. Nichole didn't know if she could ever love another dog, as much as she loved her Luna girl. And then... she saw a post of our girl, Mara and she just knew Luna had sent her to heal their broken hearts.
Mara is a super special girl who although she has her quirks, she an amazing dog. We explained everything to them and they allowed Mara to take all the time she needed to feel safe with them. They were so extremely patient with her when they met her. Mara has been through a lot, yet, once you break through her fear... watch out! She loves hard and will dedicate herself to you. We appreciate both of them for giving her a chance to have a wonderful life full of love, adventure, soft blankies and her Lambchop. A forever home and family. We promised you Mara the day we picked you up along side the road to find perfect... we found it!! 🥰

We wanted to chat with everyone about something. 🐾
If you have ever hesitated to bring a Puppy Mill dog... aka breeder dog into your home that was barn kept... we wanted to let you know our experience. Large breed dogs kept like this for their entire lives have proven time and time again to not have issues with potty training. It's as if once in a home they appreciate the clean smells, the comfy bedding and all of the extras living indoors has to offer them. With consistency and learning their cues. They rarely have any accidents inside the house... if any. These girls came into rescue and for 2 straight days their kennels looked as if we had just set them up. Everything neat and tidy.
Day 3, we had toys EVERYWHERE!! 🥰🤣
Each girl figured out her favorites, but made sure to give each toy and ball some love. :)
Watching their journey is what keeps us going everyday. These girls have been so rewarding.
Each girl is now thankfully in foster homes awaiting their spays.
We foresee foster fails, however, we want to make sure the kids are perfect matches. STAY TUNED!
We would love to hear what other adopters or rescuers have found with potty training the large breed mill dogs.

URGENT!! Toby has until Tuesday to find a foster or adopter or he must return to the kennel.
This boy has been in rescue for years!
His foster has had one tragedy after another and we need to get him in his forever home. We do NOT want to put him back into a kennel. Must be only dog and no kitties. Trust us... he is ALL you will need! He is super gentle with kiddos. He is such a great dog. 🐾

We want to give a HUGE shout out to the De Streels, Nancy and Giles and their son, Carter for offering to foster our Spitz mix kiddos, Lily and Percy!
These puppies have been at the rescue for months!
