🐾 Meet two of our amazing volunteers in action! 🐾

Every single day, our dogs need exercise, enrichment, and human interaction. Right now, dog walking takes approximately **7 hours each day** and requires the time of **5–6 staff members**. While walking our dogs is incredibly important, it also means less time is available for cleaning kennels, providing medical care, processing adoptions, and handling the many other daily needs of the animals in our shelter.

Not able to walk dogs? No worries! We need dog watchers to watch our playgroups from 8:00 am to 11:00 am to make sure the animals are behaving and not trying to dig under the fence!

**We need your help!**

We're looking for dedicated volunteers to help walk dogs any day of the week, especially during:
🕗 **Morning shifts:** 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM (you do not have to stay the whole time)
🕑 **Afternoon shifts:** 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM (you do not have to stay the whole time)
Any time dedicated is a huge help!

By volunteering just a few hours of your time, you'll not only give our dogs the exercise and attention they deserve, but you'll also help free up our staff to focus on other critical tasks that directly impact animal welfare.

🐾🎉 THIS SATURDAY! 🎉🐾

The countdown is on for the Ronceverte River Festival Pet Parade, and we can't wait to see all of the adorable pets and proud pet parents join us!

📅 Saturday, June 13th
🕙 Parade Begins at 10:00 a.m.
🕤 Registration Opens at 9:30 a.m.

We've made a few updates to the rules to make this event even more welcoming and family-friendly, and we're excited to announce:

🏆 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place Trophies will be awarded!

But don't stress about categories or competition—our judges will simply be looking for one thing:

💜 Maximum Adorableness! 💜

Whether your pet is dressed in a costume, sporting a bandana, or just being their wonderful self, we want to see them!

🐶 Dogs
🐱 Cats
🐰 Rabbits
🐹 Small pets
🐾 And all the beloved companions that make our lives better

To save time Saturday morning, you can print the registration form from the flyer, fill it out ahead of time, and bring it with you.

Most importantly, come ready for a morning of community fun, smiling faces, and celebrating the pets we love so much.

This Saturday, some very special guests will be making their way to the Alderson Public Library... and they all happen to have four legs and wagging tails! ❤️🐶

Join us from 12:00 P.M. - 2:00 P.M. for a Greenbrier Humane Society Adoption Event and meet some of the amazing dogs currently searching for loving homes.

These 7 adorable puppies are looking for loving forever homes! ❤️

While their exact breed is unknown, their mother appears to be a Labrador mix. The puppies have a variety of looks and personalities—some are fluffy, while others are taller and leaner. They're at the perfect age to begin bonding with their new families and start their journey toward becoming wonderful companions.

Before bringing a puppy home, please make sure you're prepared for the lifelong commitment of pet ownership, including veterinary care, training, exercise, and plenty of love and attention.
