Dr. Green and I, Dr. M, spent the weekend back in Jacksonville, FL, coaching at a spay/neuter lab with veterinary students from Project HEAL. We shared our expertise and helped the students spay or neuter 21 dogs and cats from a local rescue.
We love teaching and this June we will join this group for my 5th and Dr. Green’s TENTH(!!!) year in providing free veterinary care including vaccines, parasite prevention, and sterilization surgeries to the pets and livestock of owners in remote villages in Ecuador. Last year, we helped over 1,000 dogs, cats, sheep, cows, and llamas, and we plan to help as many during this year’s trip. Most of the villages we visit do not have any access to veterinary care and their communities rely on our group for their pets’ annual exams, medications, and surgeries.
