Armega Grooming, LLC Professional pet groomer. Certified in pet CPR and first aid. After retiring with 20 years in the army, I struggled to find a new path.

I earned a bachelors degree in the science of health and wellness, but there was nothing out there that was really appealing to me. I needed to find a new path. I knew this new path would need to be something that I love doing, would keep me busy, be challenging, rewarding, and give me a sense of pride. My love for animals has always been deeply rooted within me, hence my rescuing of stray dogs from other countries, while in the military. I’m not really sure when becoming a groomer clicked, but once it did, there was no doubt in my mind that this is what I wanted to do. I learned everything I could, I set myself up with a certified trainer, learned about different breeds, temperaments, coats, nails, ears, teeth, health conditions, and more. The more I learned, the more I knew this is what I wanted to do. I am so happy with this decision and I can’t wait to serve, even though in a very different capacity.

Apparently, my husband was very concerned that the dogs were going to be absolutely devastated because they couldn’t be home with us tonight while we have our floor project going on. 😂
So naturally, I put them up in my business grooming / now boarding space, which is also right here in our home, for a little overnight vacation. 🐶🏨😂

My husband: “But they’re going to be so upset! They won’t understand why they can’t be with us!” 🥺

The dogs: “Wait… you’re telling me I get my own space, no construction noises, comfy beds, and this is basically a sleepover?!” 😂

Meanwhile, I’m pretty sure they’re doing just fine. In fact, I suspect they may be wondering why we aren’t staying there with them. 🤣

I love that my husband thinks they’re sitting there staring at the door, emotionally shattered over our absence.

I, on the other hand, know the truth:

They ate.
They played.
They got attention.
They have comfy beds.
And they’re literally still in the same house as us. 😂

I’m willing to bet they’ve already forgotten we exist.

They’ll survive one night without us. Although I’m sure when we let them back into the rest of the house tomorrow, they’ll act like we abandoned them for six months. 🐾😂

Watching Luca’s grooming journey has been so rewarding. ❤️ There was a time when I honestly didn’t think I’d ever be able to groom him, and seeing how far he’s come is incredible.
A huge part of that progress is because of all the hard work and dedication his owner has put in at home. It takes patience, consistency, and trust, and they’ve put in the work!

He may not look exactly the way I’d like him to yet, but I truly couldn’t be happier with the outcome. Progress over perfection, always. ❤️🐾
