THANKFUL THURSDAY - long but heartfelt.
As I sit here on this drippy, grey day, looking back at our program, I feel incredibly blessed for several things.
Several things, all started by one horse, one black horse, a stallion who started so many thingsโฆ
A stallion who brought together 2 people who thought love was over for them, and who later had the most wonderful daughter. Who today turns 6.
A stallion who helped those people build a pretty cool, unique yet blue-collar horse breeding program outside a town of less than 1200 people in far western Kansas.
A stallion who has progeny roping at the Riata Buckle in Guthrie, OK, right now, and 2 3-year-olds entered at the NRCHA Futurity next month.
A stallion with very respectable sire stats, esp. if you consider that 80% of the mares we bred him to came off our ranch and were not broke to ride.
A stallion who carried it all, and so very much more, including me, successfully, through many show arenas for years.
As of today, CATS ROYAL BOONโs PROGENY Qdata and AQHA records are:
All Registered Progeny: 42
Official Money & Point Earners: 20 โ 47.6% of total registered progeny
Total Official PE: $106,460
Total AQHA Points:158
World Championships: 1
Other AQHA All Around Wins, Resv All Around Wins, & ROMs: 21
This is amazing to me โ but do I get to add in the 5 horses whose owners send me regular updates from sorting/penning/roping that are unofficial but still real? One of those horses had a record before we sold him, but the other 4 arenโt listed on his record at all. If I add in those documented but unofficial earnings and the progeny, these are the stats.
All Registered Progeny: 42
All Money & Point Earners: 24 โ 57.1% of total registered progeny
Total Official & Unofficial PE: $151,460
Total AQHA Points: 158
World Championships: 1
Other AQHA All Around Wins, Resv All Around Wins, & ROMs: 21
The part that really is cool. 68% of it was in the non-pro or amateur divisions.
Cats Royal Boon progeny have proven for over a decade to be versatile, user-friendly, trainable, yet very talented horses. They have successful show careers in many events.
That fact makes me most thankful, because I get to enjoy them, just like I've been blessed to enjoy him.
When you are thinking about a match for your mare in 2027, give me a call or learn more on his website.
2027 contracts will be the same price as 2026, all-inclusive, and available in early November.
