It truly takes a community to raise a service dog. 🐾💚

This ADI - Assistance Dogs International Week, we’re recognizing the businesses and organizations that help make our mission possible. Thank you to Mghee Tyson Airport, Transportation Security Administration - TSA, and Allegiant for helping our teams practice airport travel, Hampton Inn Lenoir City for welcoming our volunteers and dogs as they train in a hotel environment, and Ingles Markets, Lenoir City Public Library, Coffee Culture, and the many businesses throughout Lenoir City and the surrounding communities for opening your doors to us.

Your support provides invaluable real-world training for our volunteers, trainers, and future service dogs, helping prepare them to one day change the lives of the veterans and first responders they serve. Thank you for being part of that journey. ☺️

Being ADI accredited means SMSD has met the highest international standards for assistance dog organizations. From how we train and care for our dogs to how we support our clients, every part of our program is held to a rigorous, independent review.

For our veterans and first responders, that means confidence that they’re receiving a highly trained service dog from a program committed to quality, ethics, and excellence. 💚🐾

A special thank you to Powder River Golden Retrievers, pictured here with Gary, for generously donating Flash and giving him the very best start.

Gary will be raising Flash for the next few weeks before handing him off to Volunteer Puppy Partners at UTK (VPP) socializers Samantha and Marissa, who will continue raising him when he heads to the UT Campus in August. 🧡
