Hey guys, Bowie here.

Today I traded my mascot duties for my walking shoes. 🐾💛

I walked a whole 5K at Sherry’s Run today to support my community, raise awareness for cancer, and walk alongside so many people who have been impacted by this awful disease.

I walked for every person and every family who has fought cancer, is fighting now, or carries the memory of someone they love who did.

But I also walked for the dogs. 🎗️🐾

Cancer hits especially close to home for us. About 60% of Golden Retrievers will be impacted by cancer in their lifetime. That means pups like me face one of the highest cancer burdens of any dog breed. As a Golden girl, that statistic is a pretty scary one.

So today, I walked in memory of two very special boys.

I walked for my foster brother, Loki, who we recently lost to stomach cancer. 🖤 He may not have been with our family forever, but he was family forever.

And I walked for one of my biggest role models, Tucker Budzyn, who lost his battle with lymphoma. 💛 A Golden who brought happiness to millions and showed the world just how special our breed can be.

Today’s 3.1 miles were for Loki.
For Tucker.
For the Goldens we’ve lost too soon.
For every human and every pup currently fighting.
And for the hope that one day, fewer families will have to hear the word “cancer.”

Not bad for the company mascot, huh? 🐾

With lots of Golden love,
Bowie 🎗️💛
