Fresh out of the incubator and headed to the brooder:
4 silkies from my fun pen
6 modern game birds
12 Kikirikis
All are looking lively and ready to eat!

We had a blast at the show! The kids did so great on the drive and had a lot of fun showing their birds. Jack with Fire, the satin silkie got in some good experience in showmanship as did Ella with King Swiftbert Jr. the kikiriki. Isla and her little modern game hen made it all the way to champion row! So proud. And then finally, my little white cockerel placed 2nd in a big group of white silkie Roos but then my pullet placed 4 but again, it was a large group! So can’t complain too much. All in all, it was a success oh! And we brought two new silkies home as well as a dozen hatching eggs from a silent auction that Isla bet on 😆

We’re getting ready for the Kentuckiana Poultry Show at the Clack County Fairgrounds in Charleston IN! If you’re in the area tomorrow come join us in the morning (5/9/26)for what should be a stunning array of beautiful birds from many dedicated poultry enthusiasts. Also, there will be a silent auction and a sale area so if you’re looking for a show bird, now’s your chance!!

The chickens got mail today! Check it out! New feed to try. I’m super excited about it and the chickens went right to it! Usually it takes them several days to try a new food.

Grow out silkie update!! We’re starting to see some of the adult traits shinning through the November/December ‘25 hatches! And let me tell you, I am velvety excited for what I see so far. So far all the boys are very sweet just like their daddy and they are thicc ❤️ if you need a pullet or cockerel to add to you’re white pen this year please reach out to reserve your bids soon! They go quickly! I am NPIP certified and can ship in the lower 48 ❤️

I usually use this page to post about my silkies. But today I’d like to extend a shout out to my talls (modern game birds) and my smalls (Kikirikis). They are SO cute and SO sweet. I love them!

I can feel spring starting to push through winters cold grip! Exciting things happening over here at Kogan FF. Last year I started on my special focus of white silkies and creating my own line. They are far from perfect but I am loving what I am seeing in them so far. These little babies have a lot of potential. I hope everyone follows along this journey with us and enjoys seeing all these little white fluff balls as much as I do ❤️

It’s official! We have our LLC! Yay!
Also, 12 hours in the incubator totally transformed this little guy from wet noodle to so cute!❤️

Check out this lil cutie that arrived safe and sound in the mail today! He was in the shipping box less than 24 hours and his shipper was genius to add a little tracking tile to his box so I could watch his travel progress. I can’t thank you enough Brookside Silkies for trusting me with this handsome cockbird ❤️❤️
