I’ve been part of petsitting industry for almost 15 years; last three years officially under Sitter 4 Pets LLC with more services to offer. I would not have thought in my wildest dreams I get to be where I’m at today.

When I did the homework to see if being a full time petsitter would be the right fit for me, I was told it is pretty much 24/7 year round “job” which required sacrifices (giving up weekends/holidays and less time spent with family and friends). I thought that was over-the-top explanation. Boy was I wrong about that! It is a very good thing I love animals and that I have best clients to work with (AND very understanding family). 🥰

I truly love what I do! Burnout comes with a cost though when I give it 110% to what I do with minimal breaks. I’ve been reminded over and over that I am just human who needs to take breaks more often. Don’t panic - I’m not going anywhere!! I was able to take three short back to back trips recently and came back refreshed after each one. I’m ready to finish out the year strong with a clear mind and have goals and dreams to chase! Thank you to all my clients for being so understanding.

I couldn’t have said this any better:
“The life of a pet sitter is more than just a series of cuddles and playtime with furry friends. Behind the scenes, pet sitting is a real profession requiring responsibility, compassion, and the flexibility to adapt to different animal personalities and homes.”

“The only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle.” Steve Jobs

I was speechless when my friend/neighbor Sherri Saunders sent me the screenshot this morning. You’re looking at back to back winner!! 🥇 Congratulations to other ladies as well!

THANK YOU for the love, support, and referrals. I wouldn’t be where I’m at without you. 🐾

Pawsitively the best part of my day 🐾

I have at least 2 dogs that I can think off the top of my head - Finn and Mia. They give me what I call a “special smile.” I never have phone on me when it happens bc it is quick. Why is it special you may ask? Well they don’t do it for everyone even family members is what I’ve been told. I was excited that I was “chosen” by the dog to receive the smile. ❤️ I got to see Finn last week twice -I was able to capture his smile when I walked in on the second day. I wasn’t able to get one from Mia but one of these days I will lol 🥰

Heads up! You may see these green, brown, or black pod-like balls on the ground in your neighborhood at this time of the year. They are nuts from black walnut trees. The picture shows black walnuts in various sizes and stages of maturity and decay. Every part of a black walnut tree (nuts, shells, leaves, and wood) is highly toxic to dogs. The initial symptoms of black walnut poisoning include vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, and loss of appetite, followed by tremors, seizures, and jaundice. The toxins in black walnut trees can be fatal to dogs if not treated promptly. Do not attempt to use any home remedies if your dog has ingested black walnut. Time is of the essence--get your dog to a vet immediately. (More info in the comments.)
