🚨 MEET BIGGIE SMALLS SAMPSON — OUR BIG GUY WHO IS VERY, VERY SMALL RIGHT NOW. 🚨 WE URGENTLY NEED HELP - HELPING HIM

This morning, this beautiful purebred Great Dane came into our rescue severely emaciated after being dumped. There was no waiting around — we rushed him straight to our veterinary team.

The good news:
❤️ Heartworm NEGATIVE
❤️ Tick disease NEGATIVE
❤️ No intestinal blockage
❤️ Red and white blood cell counts look good considering everything his body has endured

But then we found what we were afraid of — Biggie has severe pneumonia.

He is currently hospitalized receiving IV fluids, antibiotics, supportive care and close monitoring while our veterinary team works to get this dangerous infection under control.

And y’all… look at him. 💔

A Great Dane should be BIG. Biggie Smalls is anything but big right now. His body tells the story of a dog who has gone without for far too long — but that story changes TODAY.

He already has a foster waiting for him when he is well enough to leave the hospital. What we need most right now is help covering his medical care.

The littles are making their adoption-event DEBUT, and our big dogs will be there holding down the fort and showing everybody why big dogs = big love.

MEET DOVIE DARLENE
Sometimes they come to us with a name, a history, and a story.
And sometimes they come to us with nothing but the fact that they survived.
Meet Dovie Darlene, our newest and tiniest little Fishy’s Friend.
Dovie is just 4 weeks old and 1.5 pounds. She was found in a ditch, far too young, malnourished, cold, and with a little body full of worms. We don’t know her breed. We don’t know where she came from or how she ended up there.
But we know where she is now.
Safe. Warm. Fed. Loved.
We took her straight to the vet, and right now our only job is helping this tiny body get stronger. Her temperature was dangerously low, so we’re on baby watch for the next several days, bottle and slow feeding her every two hours with food and puppy milk replacer.
And already, our little dove is starting to perk up.
Dovie Darlene may have started life in a ditch, but somehow this 1.5-pound baby won the rescue lottery and found her way straight into our family.
She doesn’t know it yet, but she will never have to wonder where her next meal is coming from. She’ll never have to wonder if someone is coming back for her.
From here on out, somebody is always coming for you, Dovie.
Welcome to Fishy’s Friends, little dove. You just focus on getting stronger.

Rescue has seasons—and right now, the fundraising ecosystem is in one of those dips. With donations down, we simply cannot help more dogs until we get some of our current pups HOME.
We have 16 ADOPTABLE DOGS still waiting. Big dogs. Small dogs. Certified cutie patooties. All ready for forever.
Without adoptions, we’re facing low funds, no open foster homes, and diminishing resources. Feeding 16 dogs and keeping everyone protected with monthly preventatives adds up FAST.
