We took a load of babies to town yesterday and everyone had great rides! We talk about doing our homework during the week and then hauling somewhere new to slowly start putting it to the test. Sometimes the added distractions result in the wheels falling off the wagon- when that’s the case we head home and rebuild. Other times the horses stay confident and thinking throughout the process, showing us that a little added pressure is no big deal. It’s a rewarding process seeing each horse progress!

Finally sharing some videos of my girl! 💗 We tend to stay pretty quiet about working Jo. We aren’t 100% there rehab wise, but every ride is such a blessing when there was once a time that we didn’t think we’d get more rides on her. Her try and willingness to think her way through things is so special. We’d take 100 more of her! I am hopeful that she ends up making a fun barrel horse for me. Meanwhile Justin is turning her into his helper horse. We may have to draw straws to see who gets her on the weekends in the future. 😆

Justin had the opportunity to travel to Oklahoma to spend some time with Phil Haugen last week! What a blessing Phil has been to both Justin and myself- not only throughout our horsemanship journey but throughout the last several years as we navigate growth, challenges and the ups and downs of life.
Investing in yourself is crucial and we are so thankful for the insight and tools that Justin is bringing home!
We’re excited to begin implementing some new strategies and can’t wait to see what Christ has in store!

A gorgeous sunset last night before the storm arrives today. Thank you all for trusting us with your horse kids! Every one is happy, eating and drinking and enjoying the breeze this morning! Praying for a speedy storm and that all of our friends and family remain happy and healthy 💗

Rehab is not for the weak. We’ve spent the last year and a half rehabbing Johnnie from a DDFT injury down in her left front foot at the insertion point. If you know anything about DDFT’s, you know this is the spot that you don’t want to injure. The rest, recovery and rehab has been long, tedious, challenging and has forced us to think outside of the box on more than one occasion. Thankfully we have the best vets, farrier, chiro, bodyworker (me 🙋🏼‍♀️) and now Equiscope tech!! We’ve been working to break through compensation patterns and increase ROM and strength in areas that remain unbalanced following her down time. One day I’ll share Jo’s entire rehab story, but for today I’m just thankful that she’s coming back into work and that she’s such a trooper! No matter what the future holds, it’s looking bright for our girl! 🤩

Justin riding an exercise he put together this afternoon! Justin and Punchy make it look pretty easy (he’s becoming such a fun 2 year old) but it’s tougher than it looks!
Punchy is available! Hauls, stalls, stands tied. Pastures well and stands for all vet/farrier work. A nice guy developing a solid foundation. He should be fun on the barrels!

When we originally founded 4 Pillars Horsemanship, we wanted to create a safe, Christ filled atmosphere for both horse and rider to learn, grow, progress and meet goals.

Based on this centralized idea, we created a mission/vision that we strive to uphold daily.
