It’s been a tough time here at BixRo!

You know, I’ve been a horsewoman from the age of 11 and I’ve never been experienced the death of one of my horses in a natural setting.

It is far more devastating than I expected and yet oddly comforting.

I want to thank the generous donors who enabled me to give Sheldon the medical care needed for him to have quality of life. And, because of these incredible people, I was able to give him a graceful death.

Sheldon was a really cool horse! He had a big personality and was super playful. Sheldon’s favorite person was my sister, Bonnie, followed closely by our baby sister, Suzie. Their “zen-ness” gave this traumatized boy comfort and safety. They loved him dearly! As did I.

Is there a better gift for your best friend than a donation to a nonprofit organization that makes the world better?

Anne has made a generous donation to BixRo Horse Haven in honor of her friend's birthday for the second year in a row.

All donations made to BixRo support the horses given a second chance at life who live with a herd, grazing in the pasture, here in SE Kansas.

This is a post that's a bit hard to write, so intense are the accompanying feelings.

A beloved little boy, Andres, passed away in 2009. Andres was almost four years old.

Andres is deeply loved, remembered every day of every year.

This year, Andres is remembered by Cousin Maria with a generous donation to BixRo Horse Haven.

A gift to BixRo helps us to provide a higher level of care that the horses calling BixRo their forever home require.

Maria, the love you show for Andres and your cousin, Andreas' mom, Anna, fills me with hope and gratitude.

Friends of BixRo Horse Haven, please join me in taking a moment to remember Andres, a boy who will always be remembered.
