She is just a little nervous. 💜
Franny was found as a stray in a local colony, struggling to survive. She was painfully underweight and starving, and after receiving medical treatment it became apparent very quickly that it was because severe dental disease had made eating difficult and painful.
After receiving the veterinary care she desperately needed, including a full-mouth extraction, Franny can finally eat comfortably again.
Now she’s facing a different challenge: learning that she’s safe.
Everything about sanctuary life is new and overwhelming. New sounds. New smells. New people. New cats! Right now, Franny spends much of her time tucked safely in her cubby, quietly observing the world around her. And that’s okay.
Healing isn’t always dramatic. Sometimes it looks like a frightened cat peeking out from her safe space. Sometimes it looks like staying a little less hidden than the day before.
We’re giving Franny what every scared cat deserves: patience, kindness, and time to adjust at her own pace.
Franny’s journey is also a reminder of how important dental health is for cats. They are masters at hiding pain, and dental disease can often go unnoticed until it becomes severe. Thankfully, Franny received the care she needed and can now eat comfortably again.
For now, we’ll celebrate the small victories and let Franny move at the speed of trust. ❤️
