erience of animal rescue, over 18 yrs. experience of Iguana and other Exotic Reptiles. Currently, I am not doing the reptile part, I've decided to not do the reptile care again until I get moved. However, if there is an Iguana or Bearded Dragon that is in really bad shape and I know I might be their only hope to live, I will take them. I am however taking care of a colony of feral's who have all been spayed and neutered. I was 14 years old and it was during Hurricane Fran that I decided I wanted to own a small rescue. I saved a 8 month old Siberian Husky named Apollo who was being chained up in a yard with no shelter. I asked my foster mother if I could please go get him, she told me yes so I went down to the person's house, knocked on their door and asked them to please let me have him, he did not deserve to be chained up with no shelter during the storm. To my surprise the person just gave him up. They gave me his papers and let me take him. When I walked into the yard where Apollo was chained his eyes lit up as if I was an angel. It was like he knew I had come to save him. There was no food or water bowls. Apollo was filthy and so emaciated his ribs were showing. When I took Apollo home it was then that I told my foster mother that I was going to own a small rescue and it would be called Rainbow Rescue.

Today, June 6th made 1 year since I rescued Emma Eileen. She's still feral and hella skittish, everything is on her terms and her terms only, but she has brought me so much joy just watching her running around playing with her toys and sometimes BunBun. Even though I still can't pick her up, she does sleep in between my legs every night or gets up on the pillow next to mine and sleeps. She also likes to cuddle next to me in the bed (see pictures). She also still sometimes seeks my lap out for a nap, but I can't touch her while she's napping in my lap or she bolts. Emma reminds me so much of Raven Phoenix, it's like Raven 2.0 from the being feral and skittish, to everything has to be on her terms only, sleeping between my legs, to not letting me pick her up; Raven was exactly the same for the first few years.
SideNote: I do not use a blanket or comforter on my bed from March until about the first week of November, it's too hot here (Vegas). My sheets are not dirty, I just put them on my bed the night before these pictures were taken, but black attracts everything. These pictures were taken the morning of June 4th.
