📣 FARM CALL PRICING UPDATE — EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 21, 2026

Beginning September 21, 2026, Shine Veterinary Services will be transitioning to a mileage-based farm call fee.

🚙 New Farm Call Fee:
$4 per mile from our clinic location, with a $60 minimum farm call fee.

This fee is calculated using the one-way distance from Shine Veterinary Services to the farm or appointment location.

Like many small businesses, we have continued to see increases in the cost of fuel, vehicle maintenance, medical supplies, and the other expenses required to provide mobile veterinary care. We have held off on increasing our farm call fees for as long as possible in an effort to absorb those rising costs rather than pass them along to our clients. Unfortunately, we have reached a point where our current pricing is no longer sustainable.

Moving to a straightforward mileage-based system allows us to continue offering farm calls throughout our service area while keeping pricing consistent, transparent, and directly related to the distance traveled.

For example:
• 10 miles away = $60 minimum
• 20 miles away = $80
• 30 miles away = $120
• 40 miles away = $160
• 50 miles away = $200

The farm call fee covers travel to your location and is separate from examination, treatment, medications, diagnostics, and other veterinary services provided during the visit.

🐴 Remember, hauling in is always an option! If the farm call fee is not feasible for you, we are happy to see haul-in appointments at our clinic whenever appropriate. We want to continue providing options that allow our large-animal clients to access veterinary care in a way that works best for them.

We truly appreciate the understanding and continued support of our clients. Providing accessible veterinary care to the horses, livestock, and farm animals in our community remains incredibly important to us, and this adjustment will help us continue bringing that care directly to you.

💊 NEW PRESCRIPTION REFILL PROCESS AT SHINE VETERINARY SERVICES 💊

To help us keep prescription refill requests organized and make sure they are reviewed as efficiently as possible, we have a new process for requesting medication refills.

Prescription refills will now be requested in one of three ways:

1️⃣ **Online Refill Request Form** (PREFERRED METHOD!!!) Scan the QR code on this post or complete the form here:

2️⃣ **Call our office** at 985-464-9064 and select Extension 1.

3️⃣ **Text our office** at 985-464-9064 with your refill request. Client name, pet name, and medication information needs to be included in the text.

⏰ Please allow 1–2 business days for your request to be received, reviewed by our medical team, and filled. A member of our team will text you when your medication is ready for pickup.

Because of the high volume of prescription requests we receive and the nature of our mixed-animal practice, with our team caring for patients both in the clinic and at homes and farms throughout the area, we are not able to process refill requests immediately. Please do not walk-in to the clinic and request a refill, our team will redirect you to the three steps above. Our front desk team is not able to refill medications. Only our medical staff is able to complete these requests.

Please submit your refill request BEFORE you run out of medication. Prescription refills are not considered emergencies and are processed in the order they are received.

Please remember that submitting a refill request does not guarantee that the medication can be refilled. Our medical team must review your pet's medical record to ensure all requirements for the prescription are current. If we are unable to refill the medication, a member of our team will contact you with the next steps.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we implement this process to help us better serve all of our patients! 🐾

This message does not apply if you receive your medications from our online pharmacy. If you are refilling medication via our online pharmacy simply use the website and order what you need and we will approve/deny the request electronically.
