Size: 45–70 lbs

Shedding: Moderate 🛁

Barking: German Shorthaired Pointers are vocal! They are very attentive to their surroundings. 🗣️

Experience Level: Best for owners with experience or active first-time owners who are familiar with the breed's exercise and training needs who have the means to provide professional training. 🧠

Children: Good, does well with active families and older children! 🫶🏻

Home life: German Shorthaired Pointers are best suited for homes with space and a very large fenced in back yard to sustain the puppy’s exercise needs.

Other Pets: Generally good when raised with other pets in the home and socialized properly. Not recommended to be in a household with smaller toy breed sized dogs. 🐾

Training: Easy in that they are intelligent, focused, and eager to learn. But professional training is advised. They would do best with an owner that has prior experience handling active and energetic large breeds.

• German Shorthaired Pointers are adept swimmers! Their webbed feet and muscular bodies make them good water dogs. 🌊
