primary goal is to get them into loving homes.

Dogs are man's best friend, but it is not always the other way
around. The Little Red Dog was founded in memory of a little red
American Pit Bull Terrier who did not make it. If you are familiar
with the Michael Vick dog fighting case chronicled in The Lost Dogs: Michael Vick's Dogs and Their Tale of Rescue and Redemption. The Little Red Dog was brutally beaten to death by Vick and his cronies

because she had the audacity to not to want
to fight. The Little Red Dog fights for all the dogs, red, blue, tan, white, brown, black and all colors in between. We do not discriminate against ANY breed; that's
because we are a real rescue, and we will help as many animals as we can. Our hope that some day all of
them make it out, but most of all, we will never forget the Little Red Dog and
many others who did not.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Katara. 💔

Katara came to us from the shelter, discarded, pregnant, and unsure of what her future would hold. Thanks to her foster, Jenn, she found safety, comfort, and a loving place to welcome six beautiful puppies into the world. She was an incredible mother—gentle, patient, and devoted to her babies.

As her puppies found loving homes, Katara received the gift she deserved most: a forever family of her own with prior adopter Jennifer. For a little over two years, Katara knew the love, security, and happiness of being a cherished family member before losing her battle with cancer.

Katara loved with her whole heart and had a way of speaking through her eyes. She touched the lives of everyone who met her and showed us the remarkable resilience, grace, and forgiveness that dogs possess.

A special thank you to Jennifer for giving Katara the life every dog deserves and loving her through every chapter of her journey. And thank you to Jenn for opening your home to Katara when she needed it most and providing a safe, loving environment for her to raise her puppies.

Run free, sweet Katara. Your paw prints will remain on our hearts forever. You will be deeply missed, forever loved, part of the TLRD family and never forgotten. 🌈🐾

💔 Urgent Foster Needed in Southern California 💔

A thin mama dog and her puppies have been abandoned and are struggling to survive. Their safety depends on finding a foster home. We have no place to put them!

Two kind women in their 70s bring them food when they can, but the family is not in a safe area and desperately needs help. A safe, clean environment is needed for Mom and her puppies to be healthy, grow, and thrive.

Fosters needed in Southern California! If you can help, please complete a foster application at www.thelittlereddog.org

Please share — a foster home could save this family.

Lucy Ann has been waiting over 4 years for someone to choose her. PLEASE SHARE for her!

Born in 2018 and weighing 55 lbs, Lucy is a loyal, loving companion who adores daily walks, belly rubs, and spending time with her people. She gets excited for adventures, is housetrained, crate-trained, obedient, and even puts herself to bed at night.

Lucy would do best in a calm home with older children. She needs to be the only dog in the home but currently co-exists peacefully with a cat in her foster home.

After four years of waiting, Lucy deserves a family of her own. ❤️

Oh hey, it’s me, Radar. 🐾

I’m checking in from my foster homefront in Southern California, where I’ve been waiting 2 years for my forever family. My foster mom and dad take great care of me, but I’m really hoping the right people finally see me.

I’m 6 years old, crate trained, house trained, know my commands, and thrive with structure and consistency. I’m gentle, loyal, and bond deeply with my people.

I do well with submissive dogs, love a good game of tug, and when playtime is over, I’m happiest just being by your side.

After waiting this long, I’m ready for a family to finally show up for me. ❤️

Apply to adopt Radar at www.thelittlereddog.org.
