Sometimes the easiest way to make training click is just to make the assignment crystal clear for both you and your dog.

If you put your dog in a sit-stay, you can recall them to you.

But if you put them in a down-stay, go back to them.

That way they start to understand the difference. When they’re in a down, they don’t have to wonder when you’re coming back or feel like they need to get up and follow you. They know you’re coming back for them.

It’s a small thing, but keeping the picture consistent makes it so much easier for the dog to understand what you’re asking.

The results are in!!! 🧬

We all knew Bruce had some Malinois in him, but the rest was a surprise…

Talk about a genetic concoction of hardworking, driven, and incredibly loyal breeds.

Despite his impressive genetics, Bruce isn’t looking for a job, he’s looking for a family ❤️. He deserves a home that will continue to provide him with structure, guidance, and plenty of love.

If there’s one thing all of these breeds have in common, it’s their unwavering loyalty. Once Bruce trusts you, he’ll be your biggest fan and most devoted companion.

Field Trip w/ Special Winston

We stumbled upon the Los Peñasquitos Ranch House on our way back from the airport this morning, so Winston got to explore the second-oldest colonial structure in San Diego County. He also met another Winston!

Every new place is another opportunity to build confidence, practice good manners, and experience the world.

Park trip w/ Ruby Roo last week!

This girl is such a little bundle of joy who absolutely loves to work.

We’re so proud of how far she’s come from being a fearful, anxious girl to becoming a much more confident dog who looks to us for guidance whenever she’s feeling unsure. Building trust and confidence is what it’s all about.

Every dog is different, and watching them grow into the best version of themselves is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.

Bruce’s 2nd Lowe’s session! 🐾

This trip was all about building confidence through real-life experiences. We focused on down stays while also letting Bruce experience the world the way he will outside of training. Instead of making it a dedicated obedience training session, we treated it like a normal shopping trip walking the aisles, stopping when needed, and practicing calm, neutral behavior throughout.
