📣 We’re Hiring – Racehorse Groom Position (Louisiana)

Rigdon Racing is looking to add a dependable, hard-working individual to our racehorse training operation.

We train on track and primarily race at Delta Downs, Evangeline Downs, Fair Grounds and Louisiana Downs.

This is a fast-paced racing barn environment — not a casual horse job. Early mornings, physical work, and consistency are part of the job every day.

📌 Responsibilities Include:
🧹 Cleaning stalls
🧼 Bathing and grooming horses
🚶 Walking horses
🏇 Escorting horses to the paddock on race days
🐴 Saddling and tacking up horses during training hours
🧰 General barn duties and maintaining a clean, organized work environment

📌 Requirements:
• Must be punctual and dependable
• Must be confident handling horses
• Must be able to work in a team environment
• Must be able to handle fast-paced race day pressure
• Strong work ethic is mandatory

🛑 This position is not for someone who needs to be constantly supervised or reminded to do their job.

💰 Pay based on experience.
📅 Sundays off except for essential barn duties.

Live racing Wednesday- Saturday this week at Delta Downs Racing- 6:15 pm first post. The 2-year-olds put on quite a show in trials for the Lassie and Laddie Futurities last week, but how about a hand for Jrs Coronas Toast, winner of the sixth race on May 2 for trainer Paul R. Rigdon. The 9-year-old son of Coronas Leaving You, bred in Louisiana by Julien R Stevens III, was making his 53rd start under jockey Federico Vargas and drew off for his sixth lifetime victory. Love these veterans who truly love their job!!!
