CU South is one of the most beloved trails in Boulder, and we’re super sad to see it go. The dogs have had a blast sprinting through the flat vistas and swimming in the lakes. Sharing the ponds with the fishies. And making lots of new friends on the trails. The trail network officially closes on Oct 5th, so take your dog out at least one more time before it’s gone forever. 💔💔💔

We are happy to partner with Summit Dog Rescue - Boulder to get their adoptable dogs out on the trails!

Meet Willow - a true old soul.

There is something about Willow that you feel the moment you meet her. She has this incredibly sweet, gentle way of connecting with people, as though she already knows you.

She is a 1-year old 50 lbs Staffordshire Terrier mix. She is house trained, crate trained, and comfortable being left alone for reasonable periods.

As a young dog, she’ll still need exercise, enrichment and interaction, but she has shown that she can settle beautifully.

UNTOLD STORY: Cyndi Lauper had to rewrite the lyrics in 1983 due to studio execs saying that people just don’t understand dogs.

The Original Title: Dogs just wanna have fun (hiking with Ruff Terrain)

As her owner says “Oh Norma…”
Don’t let her big frame fool ya. This girl loves rolling in the dirt and going for swims. She takes advantage of mountain and watery terrain like a true hiking dog.

Norma always has a smile during pickups and for humans she meets on the trails, which brings so much joy to all her greet her.

There are some dogs you just fall in love with….. Nutmeg was one of my first clients and she’s been the best hiking buddy. Sometimes human’s move and have life changes, and that means I no longer get to hike with my friend. But it’s been an awesome year, and hopefully we’ll bump into each other on a trail again some day!

One of the things I love most about the dog community is how quickly people step up to help.

After Soul Dog Rescue asked for donations of bedding, towels, and sheets, our local community answered the call in a big way. What started as a simple Facebook post turned into dozens of bags of donations for dogs in need.

Thank you to everyone who contributed. Your kindness will bring comfort to so many rescue dogs as they wait for their next chapter.

Moments like this remind me that we’re all connected by one simple thing: a love for dogs. ❤️🐾

Beautiful day up in Ned. These two loved rock climbing and the long windy trails.

Marley is one of those dogs who doesn’t trust easily.

Our first few hikes were slow. He kept his distance, wasn’t sure about me, and took his time warming up. And that’s okay. Some dogs just need a little more patience.

Over the course of 5 hikes he slowly warmed up to me and started to trust me more.

Last week we made it up to Nederland together, and seeing him comfortable, confident, and actually enjoying the trail… that’s the best part of this job.

It’s not just about the hike! It’s about building trust along the way. ❤️❤️❤️

I’ve been spending time at puppy camp lately, and it’s been really cool to see how much goes into socialization, reading dog behavior, recall and building confidence. TBH, it’s made me better at what I do.

If you’ve got a younger dog (or honestly any dog that seems like walks aren’t quite cutting it), this is usually the stage where hikes start making a difference.

I’ve got a few spots open for hikes now, and I’m always happy to chat and see if it’s a good fit for your pup. 🙂

Also, if you have a puppy that needs socialization (or is driving you up the wall) highly recommend checking out Gigi’s meetup page to sign up for puppy kindergarten and puppy camps! https://www.meetup.com/puppy-kindergarten-social/
