🚨 FOSTERS DESPERATELY NEEDED — PLEASE SHARE 🐾

I’m asking our Poppies Paw Pet Care community to help a rescue that is incredibly close to my heart.

Haseya’s New Beginning Animal Rescue is currently OVER CAPACITY. Their kennel runs are full, and they are at the point where dogs are having to be housed in crates simply because there is nowhere else for them to go.

They desperately need fosters — even SHORT-TERM fosters. ❤️

I have supported Haseya’s for years through fostering, sharing their dogs and helping get them seen, and I’m currently fostering one of their dogs right now. I have seen firsthand how hard this rescue works for these animals and how much they pour into saving dogs who otherwise may not have had a chance.

Poppies Paw Pet Care wholeheartedly supports Haseya’s New Beginning Rescue. I will continue doing anything I can to help them, but right now, they need more people willing to step up.

Fostering does NOT have to mean a permanent commitment. Even opening your home temporarily can get one dog out of a crate, free up desperately needed space at the shelter, and give that dog the comfort of a home while they wait for their forever family.

And if you’ve been thinking about adding another member to your family, please consider adoption. There are dogs sitting there right now waiting for someone to choose them.

A few days of drop-ins with three of the sweetest kitties! 🐾

I had the pleasure of spending a few days checking in on these three precious babies, and they were absolute angels every time I visited. 🥰🐱🐱🐱

They weren’t especially interested in playing, but they each had their own very important routine: taking turns giving me a thorough sniff-down before settling in for plenty of pets. 😂🤎

Once they were satisfied that everything checked out, they were more than happy to soak up all the love and attention. These sweet kitties were so gentle, affectionate, and easy to adore!

🐾 Our daily drop-in visit with Sage and Penny! 🐾

We get to visit Sage every other week, and this visit was extra special because it was our first time meeting Penny! Her family just welcomed her home, and we were so excited to meet this sweet girl. 🥰🐾

We got plenty of puppy loving from Miss Penny, who was more than happy to soak up all the attention and cuddles. 🥹🤎

And of course, there’s never a dull moment with Sage! She spent her time rolling around in the grass, kicking her feet in the air, and, naturally, fussing at us for a snack. 😂🌱🐶

These two already make such a fun pair, and we loved getting to spend time with them both!

🐾 A week of drop-in visits with Beau and Louie! 🐾

These two goofy pups kept me laughing during our visits! 😂🤎 Beau and Louie are always so funny and entertaining, and they definitely know how to make the most of their time together.

They love lounging around, watching the world go by through the windows, and, of course, putting on their own nightly WWE SmackDown: Doggy Edition! 🐶💥 There was always some kind of wrestling match, playful chaos, or goofy moment happening between these two.

When they weren’t busy entertaining me, they were relaxing and enjoying their window-watching sessions like the best little neighborhood supervisors. 🪟🐾

🐾 Two weeks of drop-ins with our girl Lucy! 🐾

I’ve been taking care of Lucy for a few years now, and she has always been a favorite around here. Seriously… everyone loves Lucy! 🥹🤎 She’s just one of those dogs who steals your heart.

For the past two weeks, we got to spend our days checking in on this sweet girl, and one thing Lucy NEVER let us forget was her daily walks! 😂🐕‍🦺 She absolutely loves her walks and looked forward to them every single day.

And when we weren’t out walking, she was being completely spoiled with treats and absolutely smothered in belly rubs — just the way she likes it. 🥰

Poppies Paw Pet Care is looking to add a dependable Drop-In Pet Sitter to our team!

I’m looking for someone who takes this job seriously and understands that our clients are trusting us with both their pets and their homes. I run a tight ship and am very thorough when it comes to the care we provide, communication with clients, and making sure every visit is completed exactly as expected.

What I’m looking for:
• Reliable transportation
• Punctual and dependable
• Excellent time-management skills
• Trustworthy and responsible
• Strong communication skills
• A flexible schedule
• Comfortable working independently
• Someone who genuinely loves and is comfortable around animals

This position is paid per job/visit, rather than a set hourly schedule. The number of visits can vary depending on our bookings, so flexibility is very important. Holiday pay and additional after-hours pay are offered when applicable.

While the primary role will be completing drop-in visits for our clients, there may also be times when I need an extra set of hands with boarding dogs at my home. When we have a house full of pups, that could mean helping with dog walks, supervised playtime, potty breaks, feeding, or general cleanup. I need someone who is comfortable handling multiple dogs and isn’t afraid to jump in and help when things get busy!

Most importantly, I need someone I can trust and rely on. Someone who will show up when they say they will, communicate well, follow detailed instructions, and provide the same level of care our clients have come to expect from Poppies Paw Pet Care.

A little reintroduction & the story behind Poppies Paw 🖤🐾

Hi everyone! We’ve had quite a few new faces around here lately, and between all the posts about bookings, policies, scheduling and the everyday business stuff, I realized it’s been a while since I’ve shared why Poppies Paw exists in the first place.

So if you’re new here, hi! I’m Bailey, the owner of Poppies Paw Pet Care. 🤎

But the story of Poppies Paw started long before there was ever a business.

It started with a black Lab named Blackie.

Blackie came into my life when I was 18 years old. I didn’t go looking for some life changing dog, I quite literally just ended up with her. Somehow, exactly when I needed her most, she became mine.

From then on, it was Bailey & Blackie.

She was beside me through some of the hardest years of my life. She was my support system, my comfort, my best friend, my family and my safe place. Wherever I went, Blackie went. Everyone who knew me knew her.

And when I say that dog saved my life, I mean it.

She gave me peace when I desperately needed it and loved me through every version of myself until I became the person I was meant to be.

Then came the day when I had to make the hardest decision of my life.

The dog who had spent her life giving me peace was now depending on me to give that same peace back to her.

Putting Blackie to sleep broke my heart. I had to take on the pain of losing her so that she no longer had to hurt. But somehow, even in leaving me, she gave me one final gift:

She left me a reason to keep moving forward.

I couldn’t let her story end there. I wanted everything she had given me to continue creating something good.

And that’s where Poppies Paw Pet Care came from.

I created this business to honor her, to take the love Blackie gave me and pour it into other animals. Every dog I care for, every rescue I help and every family who trusts me with their baby allows a little piece of her legacy to continue.

That’s why this will never be just a business to me.

And it’s why when you tell me your dog isn’t “just a dog,” I get it.

Send me the long list of instructions. Tell me their weird little habits. Check in on them. Tell me they need their blanket a certain way or won’t eat unless you do something ridiculous first. 😂

Because I had a Blackie.

I know what it’s like to love an animal so deeply that they become part of who you are.

I never want Blackie to be forgotten. And as Poppies Paw continues to grow, I know she won’t be.

Every dog running through my yard, every nervous baby who finally feels safe, every rescue I help, every family I meet and every milestone this little business reaches, a piece of her is in all of it.

So if you’re new here, welcome to our pack. 🤎 And if you’ve been here for a while, thank you for helping me turn the greatest loss of my life into something that gives me purpose every single day.

When I started Poppies Paw Pet Care, my biggest hope was to create a place where every dog feels safe, loved, and completely at home. Knowing that Koda and Dream love being here so much that they didn’t even try to follow their mom back out of the gate means more to me than I could ever explain.

The words “Please never quit” touched my heart so deeply. Running a small business isn’t always easy, and there are days when I question myself but messages like this remind me exactly why I started and why I keep going.

None of this would be possible without my amazing families who continue to trust me with such an important part of their lives. Your love, support, recommendations, and trust have allowed me to build something that means the absolute world to me. Loving your babies is never “just a job” they truly become part of my pack, and I will always be grateful that you choose my team and I to care for them. ♥️🐾
