My sweet girlfriend Speedy crossed the rainbow bridge today. She was the very bestest good girl and she will be dearly missed. Mom and I are so glad she was a part of our life.

Mom says there was a time in her life, after she lost her mom, when the world felt empty. Having me to cuddle with during that time in her life gave her a great deal of comfort.

I haven't been able to get up in the bed for a while now, so every night from about 7:30 to 9:30 mom crawls into my bed with me for cuddle time.

A couple of days ago I fell jumping into the car and I hurt my knee. Dr. Shari says I tore a ligament. Because I'm an old man mom has been crying a lot and is worried about what the right thing to do is.
We're sitting in the park now thinking about it.
Mom says she'd spend her last dime on me, Dr Sherry says the recovery time and the rehab is really hard and that at my age if it were her dog she probably wouldn't do the surgery.
The nearest surgeon is 2 months out so we have time to think about it. Mom decided to take me on a sniff ride. My arthritis has been a problem for a few years now so on days I dont feel like walking we drive slow around the neighborhood so I can sniff. Its a beautiful day for a ride with the windows down. The minute I smelled the river air I stood up and wanted to get out of the car so mom decided to let me take a walk. I didn't walk far or long but now I'm sitting in the grass with Mom and enjoying the fresh air and watching the people go by.
