NYS Reg NYS Reg # RR067
(5)

All Creatures Big and Small is a 501(C)3 non-profit pet rescue founded in 2003 by Beulah Miller (a former licensed veterinary technician) and Marjorie McCann (an experienced SPCA volunteer) to help adoptable pets in need. With the help of some very dear friends and volunteers, such as Nancy Bishop (Secretary), we have been able to save over 900 animals and help decrease the pet overpopulation prob

lem in our area. Our pets come from various places giving priority to pets in Oswego and Jefferson Counties as well as local dog wardens who are only required to hold dogs for 5 days before having them humanely euthanized. Since our incorporation, we have been able to find loving homes for over 300 of these adoptable dogs in Oswego County saving them from euthanasia. In addition, we have also been able to find homes for over 1000 other needy pets over the past 10 years. We would like to thank the Dog Wardens for accepting our help and contacting us when they have an adoptable dog in need rather than taking the easy way out and having them put to sleep. We also receive pets from local dog pounds, private owners, other rescues and kill shelters. If you know of a pet in need, please contact us to see if we may be able to help.

📣📣Help Needed!📣📣

We have some smalls coming from KY Saturday night and they can REALLY use fosters. If you've been thinking about fostering a pet in need, helping to save a life and teaching a shelter pet what it means to be a part of a family, now is your chance!

Whether you would like to foster or foster to adopt, we could really use your help! If you're looking for a great adult, or a needy puppy, we have both coming our way...

Meet Curtis (Pekingese mix ~3years old), Henry (~1year old male), Jack (~2years old terrier mix), Joey ((10 mos old terrier mix), Roxann (8 week Heeler mix female) and Amy, Beth, Jo and Meg (3 month dachshund mix girls). If you can help any of these go from a shelter to a home, apply today!

If choosing to adopt, an adoption donation of $500 is being asked for pups under 1 year and $450 for adults to cover a portion of their veterinary and care fees. They have each been examined, vaccinated, treated for intestinal and external parasites and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption if not already done prior to transport. Even better news? Fostering is free!!!

We don't have a lot of information about them, but all are reportedly good with people. Due to their breeds, sizes and ages, foster (or foster to adopt) requirements are:
⭐️Living within 80 miles of Adams, NY.
⭐️Having previous/current pets in annually at a local veterinary office and up to date on vaccines as well as spay/neutered.
⭐️We are told each are dog friendly but this will be verified with a meet of greet
⭐️Willing to have current dogs/family members come to a meet and greet to meet the pet and be sure she is an acceptable match.
⭐️Having a secure, fenced yard is recommended but not required
⭐️Having time available to care for, socialize and start training of a new pet.

The first step in our foster or adoption process is the veterinary reference check so please be sure to call your veterinarian's office first thing tomorrow morning, so we can get this step out of the way.

Please help us to continue helping those that knock on our doors!

Foster to adopt home needed!

Do you want a little spice in your life? If so, Lola may be the perfect chiquita for you!

This ~2.5 year old, 11ish # Chihuahua is a little spice, a bit of diva and a lot of love (once she gets to know ypu). While she may be a little shy at first, she like to rule the roost, then run away scared. Once she gets to know you, she’ll become your most loyal companion and happily stick by your side.

This sweet little girl loves belly rubs and will gladly roll onto her back the moment she thinks one might be coming. She can be a little stinker, though, and if scared, she may give a little nip to let you know "just kidding, ha ha". She may antagonize other dogs in the home, so it would be best if she kept company with small dogs only. She likes to tap them and get them going then runa for cover so as not to be caught.

With a little patience and understanding, Lola will reward you with endless love and companionship. She is currently in boarding so she will need some brushing up on potty training and other skills but we think she will be a quick learner once she gets the time, consistency and love she has been so longing for. The kind she can only get in a real home and out of the kennel.

If you’re looking for a devoted best friend who will have your back in a pinch, defend your honor or be a diva "just because", our Lola needs you!

Due to her small size and shy but sweet temperament, foster to adopt requirements are:

🌶Living within 80 miles of Adams, NY.
🌶Having previous/current pets in annually at a local veterinary office and up to date on vaccines as well as spay/neutered.
🌶Being able to bring her back to our vets office in Adams if additional care is needed prior to adoption. After adoption, we recommend taking her to your current vet to be established.
🌶Homes with children over 14 years old should be ok, but Lola would prefer a calm, quiet home to a more active environment.
🌶Willing to have current family members come to a meet and greet to meet the pet and be sure they are an acceptable match.
🌶Having time available to care for, socialize and start the training of a new pet.
🌶She scares easy when on a leash so homes with a fenced yard will be prioritized

An adoption donation of $450 is being asked if you choose to adopt, but fostering is free. She had her initial vet check, is current on vaccines, and has been spayed. All she lacks now is you!

Please help us to continue helping those that knock on our doors!

If you think you have room in your heart for a new addition, please fill out our jotform below! Don't forget to call your veterinarian's office to give consent for us to do our veterinary reference check since it is the first step in our adoption process!

❤️❤️We cannot take her into our rescue unless a foster home is found!!!❤️❤️

We have been asked to help a special girl of a special breed... a Boykin Spaniel. She was recently released to rescue after spending the past few years as an overused breeding dog. She is currently in KY and we can only take her if we have a foster or foster to adopt home lined up for her.

According to the AKC, Boykin Spaniels are energetic, affectionate, waterfowl hunting dogs from South Carolina that require a lot of daily exercise. They enjoy brisk walks, hiking, swimming, or retrieving sessions to keep them busy and would not be a good breed for a sedentary family. They bond heavily with their families and should not be left alone or crated for extended periods of time or they may become destructive. In general, Boynkin Spaniels make loyal companions and thrive with human attention. This
3yr 35 # cutie would be a great addition to an active family!

If choosing to adopt, an adoption donation of $450 is being asked to cover a portion of her veterinary and care fees. She has been examined, vaccinated, treated for intestinal and external parasites and will be spayed prior to adoption.

Due to her breed, size and age, foster (or foster to adopt) requirements are:
📣Living within 80 miles of Adams, NY.
📣Having previous/current pets in annually at a local veterinary office and up to date on vaccines as well as spay/neutered.
📣We are told she is cat and dog friendly but this will be determined with a meet of greet once she arrives
📣Willing to have current dogs/family members come to a meet and greet to meet the pet and be sure she is an acceptable match.

📣Having time available to care for, socialize and start training of a new pet.

Foster to adopt home needed!

Variety isn't the only spice in life, meet Meadow! This 14 #, 4 year Chihuahua girl is from a cruelty case in Oswego County with way to many animals on the property. When we were asked to help, we knew we had to say yes.

She is a very sweet girl, but shy at first. Once she gets to know you, this little cutie will unleash a level of orneryness that few can compete with. Meadow likes to run the show and will "goose" you if not giving her enough attention. She is playful, but also has street cred and isn't aftaid to get dirty or play a bit dirty... probably as a survival mechanism she used in her previous home.

Meadow will keep you laughing, is very food motivated and with some training we think she will shine. She is very sweet but also a good watchdog and she won't let trespassers in without your knowledge. Once she gets to know a person, she will be lifelong friends and "have your back" too, if needed.

If you may be looking for a "fluffy" little clown with a bit of sass and a lot of personality, Meadow may be your perfect match!

Due to her small size and previous history, foster or foster to adopt requirements are:

🐝Living within 80 miles of Adams, NY.
🐝Having previous/current pets in annually at a local veterinary office and up to date on vaccines as well as spay/neutered. DUE TO HER PREVIOUS HISTORY, WE WILL NOT ADOPT TO HER HOMES WITHOUT A VERIFIABLE VETERINARY HISTORY
🐝Being able to bring her back to our vets office in Adams for continued vet care if needed prior to adoption. After adoption, we recommend taking her to your current vet to be established.
🐝Although she came from a home with other dogs, a meet and greet with household dogs is a must to be sure she is a good match.
🐝Homes with children over 12 years old should be ok due to her current small size and energy levels.
🐝Willing to have current family members come to a meet and greet to meet the pet and be sure an acceptable match.
🐝Having time available to care for, socialize and start the training of a new pet.

An adoption donation of $450 is being asked for if you choose to adopt, but fostering is free. She had her initial vet check, is current on vaccines and flea/tick preventative, and she has been spayed.

Foster or Foster to adopt home needed!

We'd like to reintroduce everyone to Hershey, a 3 year old, 10 # Miniature Poodle male looking for a home to spoil him!

Hershey is a bit shy at first, but once he settles in, he will surely be your shadow. This little guy loves being near his person and if you spend a lot of time at home, he will park right near you and be your right hand man. He longs for companionship and would be a great new addition to a retired persons home. Once he settles in he will be yours forever! He gets along with the other small dogs in his foster home and he has lived with cats as well. He is housebroken, gentle and very sweet! Hershey does have a cute little underbite and likes to smile, as well.

Given his charm and good looks, we think if you meet him, you will fall in love!

If you are looking for a friendly, active, low to no shedding companion, Hershey might be perfect for you! ❤️

Due to his small size and previous history, foster or foster to adopt requirements are:

🐻Living within 80 miles of Adams, NY.
🐻Having previous/current pets in annually at a local veterinary office and up to date on vaccines as well as spay/neutered.
🐻Being able to bring him back to our vets office in Adams for continued vet care if needed prior to adoption. After adoption, we recommend taking him to your current vet to be established.
🐻Although he came from a home with other dogs, a meet and greet with household dogs is a must to be sure she is a good match.
🐻Homes with children over 10 years old should be ok due to his current small size and anxiousness.
🐻Willing to have current family members come to a meet and greet to meet the pet and be sure an acceptable match.
🐻Having time available to care for, socialize and start the training of a new pet.

An adoption donation of $450 is being asked for if you choose to adopt, but fostering is free. He had his initial vet check, is current on vaccines and flea/tick preventative, and he has been neutered.

When we asked Hoss's foster to help us refresh his pics, it wasn't as easy task and actually resembled a bloopers real... so we thought we would share! Get a glimpse at a day in the life of Hoss and one of his Best Friends!❤️

Hi everyone, Hoss here. I know many of you have been following my story with the rescue, but here is a little recap about my journey. I was born on July 26, 2024 in West Virginia. My brother and I came North to All Creatures Big and Small in November of 2024 after being at another rescue for several months. We were lucky enough to have fosters step up for both of us and my brother found a home a few months later.

It's been just over a year and a half now that I have spent in foster. I live in the Watertown area with my foster mom (she calls me Hudson, by the way), and a large Labradoodle Sam, that I call my big brother. He doesn't seem so big anymore, though, since I have grown up in my foster home. He's 9 so he doesn't like to play very much anymore, but I can get him going every now and again. I have a great life and a wonderful foster, heck, i even have grandkids to play with pretty regularly, but it's time that I found a forever home.

I'm a pretty chill guy that likes to lounge on the couch or sleep in the sun in my favorite doorway. The Sun seems to be extra hot these days so I have also been enjoying the AC.

I would love to have a dog friend in my new home to show me the way and help me become familiar with a new schedule. I have always gotten along very well with new dogs and really do seek out their companionship. I don't know anything about those things called "cats" how however, so I do not think I'll miss having them in the house.

I am fully trained when it comes to housetraining and using the crate, I know how to sit and lay down, settle and come when treats are offered. I take treats very gentle, I am not a barker, and I even know bedtime. I do love it when the little girl comes to visit me, as well.

Maybe you could give me a chance to be a new member of your family if I promise to be a good boy? I've been waiting for a while now...

A special reduced adoption donation of $250 is being asked to cover a portion of his veterinary and care fees. He has been examined, vaccinated, treated for intestinal and external parasites and neutered.

Due to his size and age, adoption requirements are:
-🏡Living within 80 miles of Adams, NY.
-🏡Having previous/current pets in annually at a local veterinary office and up to date on vaccines as well as spay/neutered.
-🏡A home with another likesized dog is strongly recommended since he seeks comfort and security from his current foster brother, but he has not been cat tested
-🏡Like all dogs, he will need a little patience and consistency at home so he can be the best boy he can be
-🏡Homes with dog experienced children over 6 years old should be ok since he is a very sweet and gentle boy, but a bit shy
-🏡Willing to have current dogs/family members come to a meet and greet to meet the pet and be sure he is an acceptable match.
-🏡Having a secure, fenced yard is recommended since Hoss does scare easily and will try to flee if he gets spooked
-🏡Having time available to care for, socialize and start training of a new pet.
