We encourage foster/pet adoption, and education to keep pets in their homes, off of streets & out of shelters, reducing euthanasia. Traci's Paws is the first 501c3 of its kind founded for "Pet Rescue Assistance." We're dedicated to saving homeless animals' lives by assisting pet rescue organizations, animal centers & shelters, and pet owners in our community and nationally. Through our work, we ca

n increase these organizations' adoption success rates by facilitating adoption events and providing funds & supplies needed to keep them thriving. Traci's Paws also works with our community of pet owners to help ensure their experience is the best possible to keep their pets in their homes for life. This may be assisting with humane education, spay and neuter advocacy, our national Pet Food Fund, and providing information on other programs that rescue partners may have that benefit these pet owners. We also have a Military Appreciation Pet Adoption Sponsorship Fund for active duty military families and veterans approved for pet adoption through a 501c3 animal rescue, shelter, or center. Traci's Paws strives to work with rescue organizations, animal centers, shelters, and the community to develop a network of supporters and volunteers to create a better world for homeless pets and their families while decreasing pet overpopulation.

We've been reminiscing a lot about when we first started Traci's Paws, going on 14 years ago!

This is one of the first adoption events we worked, assisting Open Arms Rescue - San Diego.

We provided our volunteers as transport to pick up some of the adoptable pups from their foster homes in Chula Vista and Imperial Beach, and brought them to the adoption event in Mission Hills. We also shared their adoption event on our FB page, and one of our supporters saw it, attended, and found a special pup that day! They adopted her and named her Brownie.

Sadly, we found out recently that little Brownie passed away in April. She was the best little girl, became a big sister to 2 human sisters, and was very, VERY loved.

We are very proud to have helped complete families in many ways over the years while supporting local rescue organizations and families, especially our active-duty and veteran families.

The month of June is Pet Preparedness Month. Regardless of what part of the country you are in, you may have a specific natural disaster just waiting to occur.
Always be ready and make sure your pet will be ready too.

Include your pets in your emergency plans, from go bags to exit routes, to ensure everyone can get out of danger quickly and safely.
It is always a good idea to check your pet's contact info on its microchip to make sure it is up to date. Keep a list of local centers and shelters that will allow your pet in if you need to be evacuated, as well as places that can accept your larger pets, like goats and horses.

Make an emergency kit for your pets with medications, first-aid supplies, and a list of your pets' medications and your vet's contact information. (Maybe wait on adding the medicine until it's go time, so it doesn't expire.) Add any medical records and photos of your pet in case you get separated.

We hope that you will not have to experience an emergency, but if you do, you'll be ready to go!

Awe, yesterday was National Hung Your Cat Day, and we flash back to Tabitha Ann! She tolerated a hug every once in awhile, but that was about the extent of her hugging! We hope you will give your cat a hug today if you didn't yesterday!

Tabitha Ann was the runt of her litter, adopted from Animal Defense League of Texas and lived to be 18 years old!

Hello all! We are almost halfway to the 11th Annual Unleash the Holiday Cheer, if you can believe that! This year, we are doing something a little different, thanks to multiple suggestions from you! Now we can offer our supporters the opportunity to sponsor a Christmas gift for one or more of our Active-Duty military or veteran families, without asking for a monetary donation.

You can buy the actual gift we are looking to provide at the event! We cannot guarantee it, but we'll ask the family to take a photo with the gift so you can see who your gift went to. It will take some planning and work on the day of, but in the meantime, we can use your help with the gifts, and you can start purchasing them today!

We will give a shout-out with your name or your business name, along with a photo(s) of what you sponsored. This will be on social media and on our UTHC webpage when it is ready, and will also be mentioned in print materials for and at Unleash the Holiday Cheer!

We are very happy to announce that we were nominated by a third party to win LUXlife Magazine's 9th Annual "The Pet Products & Services Awards 2026", for Animal Welfare NPO of the Year 2026 – USA. They reached out on Feb. 2nd to say that we'd previously been nominated and had just been chosen for the voting round by their panel of judges. We were asked to provide more information about ourselves, and on March 2nd, we were announced as one of the winners. If you were the one who nominated us, all the way across the pond, thank you!
