New Leash on Life Dog Rescue is a foster based dog rescue based out of La Crosse, WI. The New Leash family LOVES dogs and rescues dogs both local and from high risk, high kill shelters in other states. We rescue all breeds, sizes, and ages. We rescue dogs with health conditions, neglected and abused dogs, and dogs who for some reason or another found themselves behind bars. We do not have a shelte

r building, so are reliant on families willing to open their homes to dogs in need. Please contact us for more information. Spanish Rice is one gorgeous girl looking for her chance to get out of the shelter and into a home! ❤️ She’s about 4 years old, around 60 lbs., and our best guess is a Pittie mix.

She loves people and does well with other dogs. She’s friends with Sierra, but the girls do not need to go to the same home. Spanish Rice does have one firm request: no kitties, please! 🐱🚫

Sweet Sierra is about 2 years old, ~50 lbs., and our best guess is a Pit mix. She’s friends with Spanish Rice, although they do not need to go to the same home. ❤️

Sierra is currently sitting in a crowded shelter and may be at risk, so we would love to find a committed foster or adoptive home so we can get her to safety.

Leo is a 5-year-old, 48 lb Pug…mix? 😂 He definitely has the Pug face, but at nearly 50 lbs, we’re thinking there may be some Pittie or another bigger breed hiding in there!

And this chunky boy is an absolute sweetheart. ❤️ Leo is affectionate, playful, and would make the BEST companion.

🐶 Does well with other dogs
🦮 Walks great on a leash
🏠 Currently potty trained
🧠 Knows basic commands
❤️ Super affectionate and loves his people
🎾 Loves to play

Leo can be fearful of loud noises and scare easily, so he’ll appreciate a home that helps him feel safe and secure. Other than that, this lovable meatball is pretty darn wonderful.

Leo needs a foster or adoptive commitment so we can bring him into our rescue!

We’re not exactly sure who looked at this sweet, shy little lady and decided “Ho***rs” was the perfect name… but here we are. 🤦‍♀️😂 Thankfully, her personality is much sweeter than her unusual name!

Ho***rs is about 2 years old and 40 lbs and is looking for a foster or adoptive home so she can join our rescue. ❤️

She’s a very shy, quiet and gentle girl who may need a little time to feel comfortable, but underneath that timid exterior is an incredibly sweet and loving pup. She’s simply adorable and deserves a safe home where she can settle in and let her personality blossom.

This sweet, worried face belongs to Giovanni, an approximately 3-year-old pittie mix who desperately needs a soft place to land. ❤️

Giovanni is very, very shy, and shelter life just isn’t helping him. Even with people working with him daily, he remains scared and reserved in the shelter. Underneath all that fear, though, is a sweet boy who just needs time, patience, and a safe home to decompress.

🌧️🐾 GWEN NEEDS A FOSTER OR ADOPTER!

After a recent big storm, sweet Gwen wandered into a friend’s yard looking for somewhere safe. Now we’d love to help her find a home. ❤️

Gwen is about 7 months old, 30 lbs, and possibly a Shepherd mix. She’s playful and friendly, but can be a little shy at first. She’s working on potty training and does well with a schedule. She’s also good in a crate, though she may bark a bit when first settling in.

💜 Adoption fee: $250 if we can find commitment.
