⭐ Wins should be celebrated! ⭐
To many, this just looks like 4 photos of a cat's bath.
But for a groomer working with a cat who has a previously-unknown grooming history, degree of exposure to water, etc ..... These photos capture a whole bunch of micro - moments culminating in a successful, stress-free bathing experience. 🫶🏼
⭐ Comfortable being in the bathroom and bathtub - she is a curious girlie, and didn't show fear of this new space. The water was already running before we entered, so the sound of it coming on wouldn't startle her. I gave her time to look around, offered treats if she wanted them, and tried to make the space as welcoming and non-threatening as possible.
⭐ Curious about the feel of the anti-slip mat, and the movement of the running water. With slow, intentional movement, I was able to saturate her coat with warm water, and apply her shampoo.
⭐ This girl LOVES to be pet, so I'm pretty sure she thought the steady massaging & lathering was the best part!! 😍 Maintaining slow, intentional movement allowed us to get through multiple lathers and a thorough rinsing. From there, getting her wrapped up in a cozy towel was easy!
⭐ With the assistance of a Happy Hoodie to muffle sound, and foster mom bringing over kibble for her to munch on, I was able to get her blow-dried and nicely combed out. (Pic in comments)
