🐾 HELP US MAKE A DIFFERENCE FOR COMMUNITY CATS! 🐾

In honor of National Feral Cat Day, the Union County Humane Society is hosting a special LOW-COST SPAY/NEUTER CLINIC for stray, feral, and community cats!

🐱 THURSDAY, OCTOBER 15, 2026

Spaying and neutering is one of the most effective ways to reduce the number of homeless cats in our community. Every cat altered means fewer unwanted litters and a healthier future for our community cats!

🐾 WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

✅ Spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccination, and ear tip included

✅ Cats MUST arrive in humane live traps

✅ Drop-off: 7:30–8:00 AM

✅ Pickup: 3:30 PM

✅ Cats must be kept in a garage or other secure building the night following surgery

✅ Limit of 4 cats per address

🚨 SPACE IS LIMITED — APPOINTMENTS ARE REQUIRED!

💙 A BIG THANK YOU TO THE UNION COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL BETA CLUB! 💙

The Union County Humane Society would like to send a huge thank you to the Union County High School Beta Club for the incredibly generous donation they delivered on September 30!

And they certainly knew what a busy animal shelter needs! 🐾 Laundry detergent, bleach, trash bags, cleaning supplies and more — these are the everyday essentials we go through in HUGE quantities while caring for the dogs and cats at our shelter.

These types of donations are incredibly useful and make a real difference in our day-to-day operations. Every bottle of detergent, jug of bleach and box of trash bags means shelter funds can stretch a little further toward food, veterinary care and other needs for our animals.

Thank you to the students, families and advisors of the Union County High School Beta Club for thinking of our animals and supporting the Union County Humane Society! We truly appreciate you! 🐶🐱🐾

TAMMY ROUSE RETIREMENT ANNOUNCEMENT

After 30 years of dedication to animals and to our community, Tammy Rouse is retiring from the Union County Humane Society.

Thirty years ago, Tammy had a vision: that homeless, abandoned, and unwanted animals in Union County deserved a safe place, compassionate care, and a chance at a better life. She took that vision and turned it into what is today the Union County Humane Society.

What began with an idea and a determination to help animals grew into an organization that has touched the lives of thousands of animals and people. Dogs and cats have found loving homes, pets have received lifesaving veterinary care, and countless animals have been spayed and neutered because Tammy was willing to take that first step—and then devote three decades of her life to that mission.

Very few people have the opportunity to create something that continues to make a difference in their community 30 years later. That is a legacy worth celebrating.

The Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, and friends of the Union County Humane Society extend our sincere gratitude to Tammy for her many years of service, sacrifice, and commitment to the animals of Union County.

As Tammy begins this new chapter, we wish her happiness, good health, and the opportunity to enjoy a well-earned retirement.

The Union County Humane Society will proudly carry forward the mission that began 30 years ago—caring for animals in need, supporting the people who care for them, and working toward a community where every animal has the opportunity for a safe and loving home.

Thank you, Tammy, for starting it all—and for 30 years devoted to making a difference.
