🐾THEA UPDATE 💗 | SHE’S HOME!🐾

As we shared earlier, our sweet Thea was discharged this morning! ❤️ While she’s still not completely out of the woods, she’s doing a lot better, and we’re so thankful to have her back home.

Thea will have a follow-up vet appointment sometime this coming week, and she also has a referral in for internal medicine so we can continue working toward answers and making sure she gets the care she needs. She’s coming home on quite a few medications to continue the treatment she started in the hospital.

💔Thea’s hospital bill came to $3,200. As a rescue, expenses like this are a huge financial burden, especially when we still have so many other cats and kittens depending on us for their everyday needs and medical care.

We know we’ve asked for a lot of help over the last few days, and we cannot thank everyone enough for the support, prayers, shares, and donations. It truly means the world to us! ❤️

However, Thea’s journey isn’t over yet. Between her upcoming appointments, medications, and potential additional diagnostics, the expenses are still adding up on top of our typical rescue purchases.

💗🐾THEA IS GETTING DISCHARGED!🐾💗

We have some wonderful news to share! After a scary few days and a difficult hospitalization, Thea met her discharge goals overnight, and her veterinary team determined she was ready to come home! 🥹❤️

Adding the additional medications yesterday definitely seems to have helped her in the long run, and we are so grateful to see her making progress. This girl has been through so much, and we are beyond relieved that she gets to leave the hospital and continue her recovery outside of those walls. 🐾

We still have a road ahead of us as we work to get Thea feeling like herself again, but today we are celebrating this little victory! Every step forward means so much. 💕

🆘💔THEA NEEDS US NOW!💔🆘

We just received another update from Thea’s doctor, and unfortunately, our girl is still struggling. 😔 She still isn’t eating, and her fever has climbed back up to 104°F.

Thea is being started on prednisolone, and our next step in diagnostics is an infectious disease panel, estimated to cost around $500. This testing could help us get answers about what is causing her ongoing issues and why her lungs are looking the way they are.

For now, the decision has been made to keep Thea hospitalized until she is able to eat on her own and her fevers are under control. She needs continued monitoring and care, and as a small nonprofit rescue, these unexpected medical expenses are a huge burden. 💔

🚨We put a $3,000 prepayment down last night. We officially only need $1,400 but a couple extra hundred wouldn’t hurt 🚨

🆘💔UPDATE ON THEA — WE ARE STILL FIGHTING FOR OUR GIRL!💔🆘

We received an update on Thea this morning, and unfortunately, she took a turn for the worse last night. 😔 Her respiratory rate was fluctuating significantly, and her breathing effort was concerning, so the veterinary team proceeded with chest X-rays.

Unfortunately, the X-rays are not looking good. On top of the concerns with her lungs, the X-rays also showed degeneration in her kidneys. The doctor mentioned that this is not something they typically see in young cats like Thea, so there is now a possibility that she may be older than we originally thought.

The veterinary team would also like to send out an infectious disease panel to help determine what could be causing her condition. This means even more expenses on top of her hospitalization and ongoing treatment.

💔Thea is in bad shape, and her care is extensive. As a nonprofit rescue, unexpected emergency hospitalizations and additional testing are incredibly difficult for us to manage financially. We want to give Thea every possible chance, and we are doing everything we can to help her fight through this.

Our sweet Thea is very sick and will need to be hospitalized on IV fluids as the veterinary team works to get her stabilized. We are absolutely heartbroken seeing her struggle, and we are doing everything we can to give our girl a fighting chance. 😔❤️‍🩹

We have received her estimate, and the cost is overwhelming for a small nonprofit rescue like ours.

🚨URGENT UPDATE ON THEA🚨

Our sweet Thea girl received fluids, but unfortunately, her temperature has continued to rise. 😔 We’re concerned there may be an infection somewhere, but we’re still unsure of the source, especially since her pneumonia has cleared.

We’re now considering taking Thea to Butler for 24/7 round-the-clock care to give her the best chance at getting the help she needs. We’re hoping to get answers and get our girl feeling better soon. 💔

We hate seeing her struggle, especially knowing how nervous she is in new environments. We just want her to feel safe, comfortable, and better again.

💗Please keep our Thea girl in your thoughts!💗

Thea hasn’t been feeling like herself over the last couple of days. 😔 We’re giving her fluids to help perk her up and hopefully get her feeling a little better.

Thea is a very nervous girl, especially in new environments, and we’re hoping that with some time, patience, and a quiet, comfortable space, she’ll start feeling better here. We want to avoid adding any unnecessary stress for her if we can. ❤️

If she doesn’t show improvement over the next couple of days, we’ll get her in to see the vet to figure out what’s going on.

For now, we’re keeping a close eye on our girl and giving her all the love and care we can. Please send some positive thoughts and healing vibes her way. She deserves to feel better and know she’s safe. 🐾💕
