Most that know me know the story , The goals we wanted to accomplishment and the standards we try to keep in our breeding program ! The heartbreak is definitely toughest pill to swallow , but looking back it was one hell of a journey that we chose to stop just two passes short of her HRCH title .
“Page” in two short years accomplished 3 titles and was on her way to her 4th HRCH . When we had her OFA’S done
As a very small scale breeder , with high standard , high hopes and even higher expectations for our dogs Page’s xray came back with one hip that we felt would not pass and we decided we wouldn’t and couldn’t breed her . Heart broken knowing she was going to go on to accomplish great things and earn even more titles , we made the tough decision and she found an amazing home where she’s going to fly across the country and live the most amazing life hunting but most importantly being a amazing companion..
My point is everyone has their own opinions on pedigrees, Titles , training , breeding and even breed of dog , I could go on and on , but I don’t really care what people say , think or feel people should do with their dogs that’s not anyone’s business but there own , I do feel it’s our duty and should be our goal to give these animals the best chance to succeed at whatever they do and strive to give them the best life they can live,the best family for them to fit in with and do what’s right by them even if it’s the toughest decision and the one that breaks your heart the most !
So many worry about what social media thinks is right , what marketing sells the most pups/dogs, what posts get the most views. Etc etc
At the end of the day it’s about the Dog ! Do what’s right for them even if it hurts and for god sakes do your homework and find the right breeder or trainer that cares more about these animals than they do their wallet !!
You owe it to the dog , yourself and your family ,
