Looking for local folks who can assist!
📣 Update: In an effort to help more pets find homes, we are excited to share that 🎉 half off adoption fees will continue until the end of July! 🎉
Our shelter is very full tonight, and we are in need of help as more animals are arriving daily.
Currituck Animal Shelter is an open admission shelter, meaning we do not turn away owner surrenders from residents of Currituck County. We are also receiving a high volume of stray cat and kitten intakes. (15 cats and kittens arrived just today!) Both our dog kennels and cat areas are completely full. Despite so many fantastic recent adoptions, pets are simply coming in faster than they are being adopted. We need your help!
Fostering: Our foster program is flexible and includes all necessary supplies. Fosters are needed for neonatal kittens, nursing moms with kittens, kittens that need socializing, and kittens that are eating on their own but are too young for adoption. Fosters are also needed for dogs; our team would help select a good match based on which dogs are currently eligible for foster. The first step in joining our invaluable foster team is to submit an application at www.adoptcurrituckanimals.com. Our foster application and adoption application are the same.
Donating: When the shelter is full, we go through a high volume of supplies! At this time, some of our most needed items are towels, edible dog chews (non-rawhide), and pate canned cat food. Our most needed items can be found on our Amazon wishlist at https://tinyurl.com/yy68kw2y.
Adopting: Available pets can be found at www.adoptcurrituckanimals.com. Our shelter can be visited from 12-4 Tuesday through Sunday, and we can be reached at 252-453-8682 with any questions. Our team would love to help you find a great fit! 🐾
