A Friendly Reminder About Community Cat Drop-Offs!

The Florida Keys SPCA would like to thank our incredible community partners who help keep our islands' community cats healthy through trapping, spaying/neutering, and returning them to their colonies. Your dedication makes a tremendous difference!

If you are bringing in a cat after hours, please leave the cat safely inside the humane trap and place the entire trap inside the overnight enclosure. Covering the trap with a towel can help reduce the cat's stress while they wait for our team to arrive the following morning.

Please do not transfer community cats from their traps into the overnight kennels. While this may seem helpful, it can create significant safety concerns when our staff arrives and needs to transfer the cat. Cats that are no longer contained in a trap can become frightened, escape, injure themselves, or potentially scratch or bite staff members during the transfer process.

If you need to leave your trap overnight, simply complete the paperwork and leave the trap with the cat inside. Our team will contact you once we open and have safely transferred the cat so you can arrange to reclaim your trap.

Thank you for helping us keep both our community cats and our staff safe.
